Had a little too much fun coming up with this. There's anessay at the game page that goes into detail behind the history of the event (the Christmas Truce of 1914). I highly recommend reading Terri Crocker's The Christmas Truce: Myth, Memory, and the First World War. It's an excellent dive into how history is written and consumed, from journalism to propaganda to myth. Would love to see someone else take a tab at the art (borrowed an image from the IWM and spent far too long learning Illustrator to lay this out). I hope to expand on this in the future into a larger game - at least a magazine-insert if not a boxed product.

Fun design! Questions: Can I only activate a piece via a command square? Wasn't sure how the command piece was different from the others if they can all activate themselves. Activating a piece means move the piece according to its' grid icon and then flip in its new position, or flip first and use the newly revealed movement? (assumed the former).
