I've played survival horror games all my life, and I have to say, this is the first one that has left me feeling actually unsettled in around ten years. I was blown away at how beautiful the game is, how atmospheric the experience was, how unique the controller device was as a UI element, and properly disturbed by the feeling of being vulnerable in the foggy woods and sure as hell not feeling alone. It made me trepidatious to do anything, the same way that Silent Hill did way back when I was a kid. And I expected not to be scared, because aliens are never that scary in fiction to me, they're always just "funny looking hostile creature" and never truly alien, but in Chordosis it was not long before I really, truly felt like I was dealing with something completely unknowable and foreign; like Annihilation. And thus, pleasantly terrifying. I eagerly await the remaining story.
