Wow, that was a wild secret area. Thanks for telling me about it, I would have never found it otherwise. Now my curiosity is finally satisfied.
What were your inspirations for this game? I remember the last bit of dialogue with TV man, I told him to stop being so damn cryptic. He told me things weren't as abstract as I thought. But in the end, I still wonder why the map is not the area.
I spent quite a while going through the blue terminal, but I couldn't find what you were talking about. Since you turn around so much in this game, I couldn't tell where north was. I thoroughly searched all tower like structures but found nothing. Just went in circles, occasionally finding the entrance again and collecting ego orbs.
Can you give me any more clues? Or is there some other condition to making this secret appear? Is it a different portal, a strange coloured ego orb, a special sound cue, a hidden area or something else entirely? I feel lost. Sorry.
I have been curious about this game since playing it during Madvent 2.
"I will teach you to dream without a map"
"Impressive. There are still pieces missing however."
"The map is not in the area."
Is finding the phone and getting that message really the ending? I've been curious for a long time if there is more to find after opening the gate. It feels like I missed something. I'd love to hear about your thoughts and intentions with this game.
This all looks very impressive, but the first question I'm asking myself when I see this is if there will be an option to play hex based. I know it's an option to play on a grid, but every Lancer campaign I've been in so far has been played on hex.
I hope I'm not being discouraging with this comment. Whatever you decide on, I'm sure it will end up really fun.
I played this game as far as I could during it's last version. I reloaded some old saves where I had made everyone get along with the other side of the island, but it wouldn't let me progress. I don't really want to replay this entire game to get an ending. Is there something I'm missing or are the old saves just incompatible? Are the endings even implemented yet?
Man, I was excited to get to play Sauna 2000 again but this version is somehow significantly less functional than the original. What did the dev spend all that time on? The water from the buckes now sometimes misses the containers when I click right on them, the ash bin does not fill up when I pour ash into it, and that's just the small bugs. The wood chopping is horrible now, it has janky physics that keep making it so I know the wood away with the axe instead of chopping it. Added bonus, you drop the axe every time you shop, so doing this is infuriating.
But here comes the big one. When you put in the wood, you get that weird little tetris minigame. It does not stop. I brought 7 pieces of wood and the minigame just kept going. Once you've used up all your wood, the game softlocks, you can not leave the minigame, I tried every button. You can only let the time run out, and even the outro screen is covered with that damned minigame.
Again, how is this less functional than the original? I do not understand
I like your aesthetic, but I keep getting stuck on the very first screen. When I talk to the characters on the left, something goes wrong with the textboxes and my character stops registering all movement inputs unless I restart the level. Running this on Win 7.
I'll give it another shot at a later point, but this issue makes me hesitant to talk to characters in fear of erasing all my progress.
I used cheats to get enough ego to unlock everything. There is no ending behind the locked door. The only thing you find there is a telephone. If you interact with it, you get a text message saying "the map is not in this area" or something like that. I searched all the levels for whatever this map is supposed to be, never found anything.
Either I missed something and there is an ending nobody has ever seen, or this is just unfinished. Dev is anonymous so we can't ask them.
