Ah, thank you! These help a bunch

Uh oh- something must've broke, and such a simple bug at the start of the game makes me surprised that no one else had ran into it before! I'll look into it and see what's causing it.

I'm on my own "writing break" for the next update. No writing for me, but I'll still be doing coding work and spritework as i implement a new character and vore scenes made by my co-writers for v1.0.5.

After that, I'll return to writing for v1.1!

Glad you enjoyed it! And for others who might be curious, the fastest way to make Duke like you is to "stay silent" upon first meeting him, then you "accept your crimes" during the trial. Alternatively, just cast blame on Mitryll during the trial!

Ah, that must mean one of scripts isnt working right. Thanks for letting me know!

Correct, Loika goes into hiding after the events of the Trial. He can be found later, however, in both routes.

Loika will get a little bit more love in the v1.0 update, and it's possible to convince him to stay in town at the end of the Escape-from-your-cell/Mitryll route.
Also, Loika is a guy! He goes by he/him.

Sexual content and depictions of sex isn't outright not allowed (for future content), but do remember that this is a vore game first and foremost. I can't promise to add in a sex scene for Loika as of right now.

Right.... NOW!!!

I gotta be honest, I didn't even know the Itch.io app was a thing! I uploaded a version that's zipped up, see if it works!

TODAY!!

Thank you for this! This was certainly a weird one to fix, but I figured out the issue thanks to your help. Turns out that reforming Vel'Roz after digesting him was checking for the wrong flag and was playing when it wasn't supposed to. Since it thankfully doesn't break anything important, I won't make an emergency-patch for it, but it'll be fixed for a future content-update (v0.9.5).

The online version does work with android! Try this link: https://play.textadventures.co.uk/Play.aspx?id=cmt50dll2koybs5hqny8qa

The offline version, however, does not and I cannot change that as I did not create the Quest engine. My apologies, but you'll have to use the online version until that changes.

Oh goodness i wouldn't even know where to begin to fix this one. At the very least i can rest easy knowing you have to go out of your way to encounter these crazy turn of events

Thanks for this! This'll be fixed next update

Yeah, it'll be longer than usual for the public release. I know it SUCKS, but I promise that the game will never be fully paywalled. Also, I'll happily take that trade! C'mere and give me a hug <3

Ah just ignore 'em. A single emoji is harmless

You need to find someone to feed to Nullah. His first casual dialogue option does give a hint by telling the player: "Seeing as how this area is rather close to Rett and Mitryll's cave, you can't help but to wonder if they ended up running into [Nullah] at some point."

After encountering Nullah and learning his name, you can head back into Rett's bedroom and there will be option of telling Rett about Nullah using his own hunting grounds. This will cause Rett to go confront the yellow dragon, and thus cause him to get devoured. Try it out yourself and see how the scene plays out!

This is honestly the first time I've ever heard this. Tell me more, this is the online version, correct? If you start a new save file, do you see the map at all? Or is the map disabled after doing something specific in-game?

It's possible, though I'd have to go back and edit each scene to account for that, which sadly is a lot more work than it seems! I'll see if I can implement something like that within the next few updates, but I can't make any promises... yet.

You are very kind. I'll look into setting up a boosty sometime soon!

(1 edit)

Actually, you can! So long as you have bones enabled in the overworld (this is the default setting, but can be changed at the Floating Mirror), you'll be able to keep the fish's skull with you, which you can take to Zlip to complete the quest.

(1 edit)

I was afraid this might happen! So, I did give a few more hints if you talk to Zlip some more. He tells the player what the bug is supposed to look like, but quickly shifts gears to say he COULD be transformed into a fish.

This fish in particular can be found in town, once you take a look at the town's fountain, you'll notice an odd-looking fish swimming inside of it's pool. Get yourself a net from Loika, also found in town, to capture the weird fountain fish and bring him over to Zlip!

This will complete Zlip's quest and completely alter his vore scene to include his mate as a spectator!

Oh, my bad! Then I hope you're talking about Null, who is a royal ludroth, not a lion.

After talking to Mitryll and getting more travel sigils, head back into Rett's cave. Pass through the cavern hallway, then when you are near the room with Rett's hoard, you should get a brand new event, one that urges you to enter the treasure room. Enter the treasure room and jump into the hoard of stuffed animals! You should be able to find Null from there.

That must be Rroknaar. First you must talk to Rett and ask him about Mitryll's shop. He will then give you a travel sigil which allows you to use the ritual circle in the northernmost part of his cave. Enter Mitryll's shop and talk to him, and he will give you many more travel sigils.

Once you go back to the ritual circle, you'll be able to use the different travel sigils which will take you to various places. The sigil you want to use is the Cogwheel sigil. This will take you to an arena-like area where you can meet Rroknaar and challenge him to a fight.

That area was made a few updates ago for the first guest-writer who wanted to contribute to the game. His progress went steady for some time, but he eventually got burnt out. He is planning on working on it again, but I cannot give an ETA as it entirely depends on the guest-writer's work.

Admittedly, I shouldn't have that area be accessible, as there is no guarantee he will finish his work. I'm sorry if I got your hopes up!

By chance, are you trying to run the downloadable version on Mac or phone? The downloadable (offline) version only runs on Windows, and there's sadly nothing I can do about it as I did not make the Quest 5 engine. I am hoping Quest Viva will be able to run on other systems when it is released, but nothing is confirmed yet. For now, you must use the online version instead: https://play.textadventures.co.uk/Play.aspx?id=cmt50dll2koybs5hqny8qa

If you are on Windows, you must download Quest itself onto your computer in order to run the downloadable (offline) version. This can be found in the download section of this game, or can be found on the official website here: https://textadventures.co.uk/quest/desktop

Thank you, dearly. Hearing words like these make me feel so good inside... and they confirm that my effort is paying off!

No worries, I believe you, though this is the first time anyone's ever reported this. With all due respect, did you read what I replied to you earlier? I want you to follow my instructions so you can log in to the website itself on https://textadventures.co.uk/ so you can save whenever you like. I'd recommend saving often, so you can reload and continue in case the server kicks you out again.

Otherwise, I cannot offer you any other solutions.

Sadly, this is out of my control, as this deals with the servers being hosted at textadventurers.co.uk. However, there is at least one solution/workaround:

1. Make an account on the website itself, here's the link -> https://textadventures.co.uk/account/register

2. While playing the game and while logged in, you'll be able to save the game. To do this on the mobile version of the website, press the "+" button at the bottom right, then tap on "More". Once it brings up more options, the leftmost option should be "Save".

3. Continue playing as normal.

4. If you ever get kicked out, or just want to reload your save for any reason, you can load your save by going to the main page for The Cave: https://textadventures.co.uk/games/view/cmt50dll2koybs5hqny8qa/the-cave-v0-7 then you scroll down to find the big green "Play (Resume)" button.

That's about the only solution I can give ya, other than that, I'm excited to tell you that the guy who actually MADE Quest returned and is working on the engine/servers again! The current version is Quest 5, but the next version, Quest Viva is currently in development and may be even more mobile-friendly than before!

I'm not quite understanding the question, what do you mean by "make the online section for mobile player not end"?

Sadly this is not something I can fix on my own, due to engine limitations. I tested the game out on my own android phone just a moment ago, and just like you said, it didn't have any sound. However, if I changed from the mobile version of the site to the desktop version (while still being on phone of course), the sound works!

Give that a try and see if it works on your end.

Most of the spritework is actually done by an artist named Vel'Roz (also goes by wown00bify over on Furaffinity), but I'm the one who animates and edits them. Vel'Roz certainly has more experience making sprites than I do, but by helping him, I've learned a lot and have even started making my own!

And it goes without saying that I love the small community that adores my game, so I want to make them as happy as I can!

(1 edit)

It takes a few hours (around 3 to 4) to make a sprite and animate it, and thankfully having it be animated in the game itself was surprisingly simple! Turns out Quest has had native gif support this whole time.

The download is a .quest file that needs the Quest engine to run it. You can find the download for Quest in the description of the game, or here: https://textadventures.co.uk/quest

Just note, the downloadable version of Quest only works on Windows. If you are playing on Mac or iOS, you'll need to play the online version instead, which can be found here: https://textadventures.co.uk/games/view/cmt50dll2koybs5hqny8qa/the-cave-v0-4

The game itself is free, click on "Download Now" then "No thanks, just take me to the downloads"

Payment is completely optional

I'm tryin' to update the game every 45 days or so. So no worries, it hasn't been abandoned whatsoever!
