Without sharing the artwork, which piece was your favourite, and why?

We've had many MMDers and artists requesting to join the next MMD Zine. What signature style would you bring to the next zine? Show us your best renders and artwork.

Yesterday, on the eve of the release of the REBIRTH Zine, we sent 9 of our fans an early copy of the artbook. Here is an anonymous review of us

"This is a HUGE project that spreads an even more huge message about a community that has been around for over a decade continuously growing, introducing newer generations and genres along the way. For the first time in my 10 plus years of contributing to MMD and bearing witness to countless acts of trial and error I have never had so much hope for a community I steered very well clear of. This Zine is an immense example of the power plenty MMD content creators still hold to do what is right, what is good, what is deserving of such an ever growing interface. To share their passion for a program that, while isn’t the strongest when it comes to 3D rendering and other bits n’ bobs, has been proven time and time over the quality and passion that comes from artists of many different levels that anyone can try for themselves. It moulds people’s creative minds together, it structures a group which scaffolds what it means to understand an art that is processed with no pencil and paper.

Hours of work has gone into this zine, spilling the words of it’s contributors and exposing the light this community could really use in a time like this- it means the world to someone like me, to people like us. Could I go on about the MMDC and bleed your eyes out? Absolutely, and you shall see for yourself once it is available to public admirers- which is very soon. All you have to do is take my word for it.

To the founders Ryuu and Chestnutscoop, for choosing me as one of the 9 who received access to the artbook a day early, the amount of elemental surprise when I got that inbox made a crappy day a greater one. We may all be strangers at the end of the day but it is the trust we have in one another that makes all the difference. You have my utmost respect and gratitude. Thank you."

All our artbook artists started with no experience. Now they represent some of the best artists in the MMDC. How did you start your artistic journey?

The MMDC has moved away from exclusively Vocaloid, and to an extent, anime as a whole.

Sketched art brings about an emotion of rushing. It is a powerful motif.

References are an excellent way to ensure that your art is realistic to life. Looking at how people move and pose helps us avoid broken bones.

REBIRTH manifests in 5 days. Let us show you a sneak peek at our introduction page.

What kind of pioneering art are you hoping to see in the zine?

Whether it be MMD, other 3D art, drawing or constructing, where do you draw inspiration from for your pieces?
