it could be many reasons. I would look at your mods and make sure you don’t have a crazy amount t of them. Check your settings, maybe lower the graphics. if you have an older pc maybe performance is not good. Washplant will put a bit of strain on of, but have not noticed it to much on my end. 

yes will need to use terrafarm. Once you understand how it works you won’t ever want material built into maps anymore. Much more realistic feel with a little RP can get the full gold mining experience with ripping the ground to reach the pay.
