They don't work unless you have the Patreon edition.

Just scan it with an antivirus if you're paranoid, thats what I do. But yes, it's perfectly safe, I've played it and have nothing going down in my PC that shouldn't happen. It DOES create a registry key, but thats just to allow for save data to be stored in an easy to access location that can't be deleted easily

I don't see the registry value.

I think I found the error even though the exception for pygame, and it's not finding renpy either even though I installed both on my machine. I fixed Ren'Py by updating what it was asking for from pugame_sdl2 which is outdated since the original pygame now functions on sdl2 libraries, but for whatever reason Ren'Py is being extremely stubborn with working. Most likely, it's just going to either be somebody figures this out or the dev fixes their broken code.

EDIT: I looked over the code some more, it's Ren'Py that has broken code, not the dev. Ren'Py is trying ro open renpy.compact which it can't find even though I'm looking at the folder. gonna try and see why the file doesn't exist according to the bootstrap file.

Seems to be an issue with a missing import, opened up the offending file on my game (have the same issue w/ version 0.23) and it says it can't find the renpy import. Most likely means you need to have it in path and isn't in a redist folder like it should be (dev pls fix)
