DESCRIPTION:
Infiltrate a heavily fortified rocky island owned by a powerful corporation and steal incriminating evidence on its illegal genetic research and human cloning experiments.
Admittedly, Devil's Island is not the best-looking FarCry map out there, and some of its environments don't make much sense. However, the general layout and the way the level progression is structured around it are pretty solid. Add to that a few nice touches like a smoking volcano and strong winds howling at the top of tall cliffs, and it's a very decent map all in all.
INSTALLATION:
- Extract the devils_island folder into Far Cry\Levels.
- In-game bring down the console (~).
- Type \map devils_island, press Enter.
TIPS:
The big satellite dish at the shore can be destroyed with bullets too, not just explosions.
Not far from that dish, the game sometimes crashes. Driving your boat closer to the shoreline seems to help, but save your game via the console (\save_game) just in case while in that area.
The alarm at the main gate can only be silenced by shooting the loudspeakers on one of the concrete watch towers
