I was genuinely considering backing this game on patreon and donating for my copy of the game, but seeing the additions of 0.9.0 has changed my mind. I don't like any of it. The new tutorial is such a boring slog that you aren't even allowed to skip. It literally teleports you to the spot it wants and doesn't let you play the game until you sit there and do what it wants as it wants. Why is there no "I played the game before skip tutorial pls " button?? I don't like having to do stupid puzzles when before I just pressed a button. I don't like buying fuses that die immediately. I don't like paying for batteries to drive my ATV that breaks down and needs tires now. I don't like spending forever triangulating a signal only for it to vanish. It isn't more skill based its just more annoying. I don't like having my floppy drive fail 100 times in a row to gather the hash codes. Most of all I hate hate hate HATE the new controls. They're insanely clunky and are a massive downgrade. What was wrong with the ALT key giving me ALTernate states of action? At the very least the game NEEDS a legacy controls toggle.
I guess in a tl;dr: I cannot stand the direction the game is going with this update and I cannot in good faith give any money or positive reinforcement for the massive enshitification that has occurred. If/when these things are fixed I will gladly come back as I love the 0.8.2 experience.
