After trying quite a bit, I finally managed to beat the game.
I really wanted a little more feedback on what's going on, but it's still a good game.
It's an extremely difficult game for those who don't have the skill to type fast (me). It would be interesting if the game started with a lower difficulty, perhaps with a longer timer or a simpler word selection, if possible.
I also didn't feel much of a difference in the multipliers, perhaps a higher limit would be better.
Despite failing miserably at trying to get past the first level, I had a lot of fun with this game, the art and music are also very cool.
The tempo has a pattern of 0.7 seconds (or 85,715 bpm). I tried to make it neither too long nor too short, and I didn't even think about the bpm, so it ended up with this strange number.
From what I've observed so far, the game has become quite difficult. I should have considered that people don't have the same skill level as someone who has spent many hours playing the same thing lol
The audio is so bad that I ended up leaving it disabled by default in the settings, so I recommend following the rhythm using the animations as a guide.
Notice those lines that appear on the edge of the screen; every four ticks, one line gets thicker. This indicates the enemies' action time. Defend so you can attack on the next tick.
Maybe I should make a tutorial teaching how to keep up with the rhythm; I think I've been playing so much that I've ended up assuming this kind of thing is basic.
I really should have looked for someone to handle the sound, the sounds I produced were so bad that I left them disabled by default. If you're brave enough, you can enable the audio in the settings. When the game jam is over, I'll look for some sound assets online and also balance the game more to make it fairer.
