Rixia Mao (Trails to Azure) [Video Game]:

One thing I found interesting about Rixia was her eyes. No matter how much she smiled, her eyes were always sad. That's what I wanted Morgan's eyes to tell the player. That she was someone struggling with something really deep inside. This can be seen with the change from her default expression to her happy expression. Just a single pixel changes so much. 

Jiji (Kiki's Delivery Service) [Anime Movie]:

I like how Kiki has a talking cat. And I liked how Jiji was someone she confided in when she really needed it. I wanted Morgan to have that.

Bocchi (Bocchi the Rock) [Anime]:

Morgan's personality is mostly based off of Bocchi. Someone who struggles with basic tasks. It's part of the reason she has a guitar later on. 

Me (the developer)

I based it a bit off my experience with college and struggling to meet people at first. So I wrote Morgan's story about that. I also have cats, so that's why cats are important to Morgan, they are important to me.

One of my favorite games. Its messaging and themes really helped me when I was going through a lot two years ago. It really shows how even in difficult moments, life is still worth living, that there can exist hope in harsh times. I really love the scene where she cries when eating. Just that remembrance, of how many hands went into creating a single dish, all to fill your stomach and help you continue your journey in this life. I am upheld by the rest of humanity. We all are.

Thank you for making this game. Often people doctors haven't taken me seriously, and it's hard to express to other's when other's can't relate. Now, I can give the link to this game to others, so they can understand me and my pain better. Again, thank you!
