I appreciate it! Check out my other game "After School Murder Club!!" if you haven't already; it's free on Steam too with achievements. It's a lot more involved than this one!

Thanks! I forgot this game existed till your comment tbh!

Great to see you still working on stuff bud!

Thank-you for your review! I'm really glad you enjoyed my game ^^

Interesting demo! Here are some thoughts off the top of my head.

The artwork and music are great. Julie's sprite is attractive, unique and expressive, and the background and music track set the tone for the demo nicely. My only suggestion for the presentation would be the text style and colours; the default Ren'Py font is a little plain and doesn't match the style of the artwork, and the text on the menus is difficult to read due to the colours used. I'd also suggest using different coloured text for the characters' names, to more easily differentiate who's speaking.

Writing-wise, it's an immediately interesting premise, and the darkly humorous tone is established quickly and effectively. The identity of the main character (being vague so as not to spoil it) is also unique, although the demo is too brief to give it much impact.

I'm tempted to say that a little more setup before Julie begins to speak might work well. Perhaps a slow fade between the title screen and the first scene to convey the idea of "waking up", and a little narration of the character looking around the room and trying to remember what happened could ground us more in the moment, and might give Julie's ensuing exposition more impact.

This is a great start and I'm really keen to see more from you!

I spent an hour wandering the streets tonight.

There were people there, but it was empty. Faded words on walls spraypainted a picture of an apocalypse that had already come to pass. My pockets began to fill with the things that had been left behind.

Alcohol seemed to make the process go more smoothly. Isn't that always the way.

A friend I'd never met told me that I could talk to them, if I needed someone; perhaps they even meant it, or thought they did at the time.

The only sound was a distant drone. The only thing on TV was static. The only things in the bathtub were cigarettes.

I'm not sure if the blue screens were a way out, or a hole leading deeper, but either way, I did eventually find something in the darkness. It wasn't a light, exactly, but it was hot.

Hi there; I'm not sure how to fix this problem, but I would advise downloading the game on Steam instead. It's exactly the same as the itch.io version and it's still free, but it's easier to get working and it has Achievements too!

Ooh! Pick me! Pick me!

Hey there, I don't know if you're still active, but I released my first visual novel, After School Murder Club!!, which uses a lot of your backgrounds! You are credited in the end credits, of course.

If you see this, keep up the great work!

Hi there! I just released my first visual novel, After School Murder Club!!, which uses the excellent music from this pack! I've heard your music loop thousands of times over the past three months and I still love hearing it!

You are credited in full during the end credits, with your logo displayed on-screen and a link to your website!

Keep up the fantastic work!
