(i emailed u this but i realised it'd be better to put in a comment lol)

I sent a review in the Google Form but I guess writing an email would've been better way to communicate. I found your game from a retweet and decided to try it. I didn't get very far (I got stuck at the staff ID thing lol) though.

I enjoyed your game! The character designs were fun, the art was charming (even though I didn't at first), and the premise was interesting. However, (and I mean this in the nicest way) there's A LOT holding the game back sadly :(

A lot of the game was pretty jank.

The battle UI was sorta clunky. Textboxes would appear too quickly and I wasn't able to read the dialogue and play the battles (it was also in the middle of the action part which was a bit weird). The combat in the battles were also fairly unengaging; after getting the hang of it, I felt like I was doing the same actions over again. The items menu was pretty weird too. The cursor moved very slow which made navigating it very cumbersome D: It would've been nicer if an item was automatically used on something that required it (Like the door with the staff ID automatically accepting it when you get the item). The collisions felt VERY off too. I know they're pretty hard to get right in an rpg, but I felt like I was constantly being blocked off my things. Tweaking them a bit would improve the game a lot :3c

One thing that stuck out to me though is that it's VERY derivative of games like Undertale and OFF. I don't mean that in a way accusing you of blatant plagiarism (imitation is the sincerest form of flattery as they say), but there times playing where I could tell a bit or element was taken straight from the game and I felt like i was playing more of the same :/ BUT the original parts of the game (character design, music, setting) were VERY good. Focus on the parts that make YOU unique from your influences (easier said than done lol)!

Overall, Megarove is a promising game! I sadly didn't complete it, but from what I watched on youtube, there's a lot going for it. Hone your skills, find what's unique to you and keep working. I can't wait to see what's in the full game! :3 -- Qylyppill

(PS: psst if u need a composer pls contact me wink wink but not really if u dont wanna kthxbai)

Pretty good game! I enjoyed the dark and haunting atmosphere and definitely wasn't expecting a minigame  :D

The art and atmosphere was easily the best part of the game. I liked the colour choices and the very minimal designs, don't needa go to far, right? The sound design was good too, lots of strange noises that make you uneasy. The gameplay was okay. I didn't get very far in the game and felt like i was doing one of those puzzles in an rpg :P However, those tense moments where you had to run from the monsters after collecting the soul gem were great!

Overall, I liked this game! You nailed the atmosphere and sound portions, but the gameplay could use a bit work with maybe balancing, but it doesn't detract too much. Nice work!

Thank you so much! I did the music on this and worked very hard on it, so I'm very very happy that you enjoyed my work :D
And yeah scope creep messed us up badly. There would've been so much music you guys would've heard. :( Hopefully we will expand it in the future if we find time to, and I'll do my best to make the music even better than it is now.

I'm glad you enjoyed the boss theme as much as I did making it, even though the final version came out weaker than the sketch :P I put my all into it. Again, thank you so much!

if you wanna add me on discord its the same as my username
