Oh, I also have a feature request. I use a plugin on krita (Shortcut Composer) that makes it so that when hold down a keyboard key the horizontal and vertical movement of the stylus changes certain properties. There is a small deadzone, and then it locks to whichever axis it detects movement on. One "mouse tracker" maps canvas zoom and rotation to vertical and horizontal rotation, and there are others for brush size / opacity, scrolling through layers, and scrolling through undo history. I map the keyboard keys to my tablet buttons, and find these very convenient to use, so I would be happy if such functionality could be implemented in OurPaint. If you need more information I could record a video demonstrating this behavior.

Hello, sorry it took so long to get back to you. I have written up my explorations in markdown format, uploaded to two places in case one does not work. Mostly this is me going off on a wild goose chase about wayland input handling, and failing to build OurPaint aha :).

If you are short on time, my conclusion is that filtering for the string "stylus" will give you the correct device.

Hey, I'm running on a steam deck flashed with CachyOS's handheld edition (so basically arch linux). I use a Huion Inspiroy H610PRO V2 tablet, which to get working I had to install Huion's own userspace driver app. I see prior discussions about getting pressure sensitivity to work with Huion tablets here in the itch comments. I am interested in testing new versions  / doing some debugging in order to get pressure sensitivity working.

Did you do this? I have similarly bad perf on a steam deck with proton. I bound alt+enter to a grip button and was able to leave fullscreen but the performance seemed about the same.

I had the good luck to run into this last year when I was exploring getting into the OSR. I'm not using any of the rules in the LotFP game I ended up running, but they helped lift a few confusions I had at the time whilst sifting through blog posts. This is an excellent document to hand a new DM. Thanks for putting it out there for free.
