The stat system affects dice rolls. At the moment it is a bit superficial, I wanted to do a simplified Fate/Disco Elysium thing, but for the prologue I focused more on characters and story and didn't want to get bogged down by the gameplay systems. But dice rolls are influenced by your withdrawal status and the stat system. At the moment the only dice roll that affects the story in a permanent way is the last scene (also one game over half way), the rest are just a bit of flavour. As the project advances, these dice rolls will be more important and have more lasting effects.

Yes! At some point in the future I'd love Beckett to have a romantic interest. But it will take a while to get there, I have a character in mind but he's still a sketch. Realistically speaking, it's hard to start a serious relationship when you are a fucked up junkie! I'm thinking of a Eugene Allerton type.

The Ottoman empire is in the lore, and quite a lot, but the game is set under French (Galian) colonialism. Think Tunis-Algiers. But the character Penelope is from Asitane (Istambul).
