I don't have any insider knowledge or anything, and this is just a total wild guess, but Karim might be? He reads as possibly autistic and might have some aspects to his story that are relatable to the transmasc experience, since he seems to have discomfort taking off his helmet at the end of the demo.
If that's not the case, my crack-theory is gonna be that he's some sort of slime monster and he holds together a shape he feels comfortable in with his outfit

I'm not over this. Gonna gush a bit more:
A black MC, monster designs that are diverse not just in monster species but also body type, age, body hair, ethnic coding (so often furries/monsters are just different flavor of White), disabilities, neurodiversity? (biker guy karim is giving me autism and maybe even transmasc vibes and is such a cutie patootie, I am so intrigued), and personalities! I also love seeing a big diversity of men sexualized for different body types/thought of as cute/etc. I am so excited for this
SO FUN!! The art style is incredibly cute (the death is so morbid, seeing your little guys' corpse getting bullied eternally though!!)
I ended up getting stuck in a loop hope by falling into it fast enough and wasnt able to get out, and pumelled to death rip to the little blue blob. I thought the idea of putting collectibles around the map to be quite fun, it gets much harder towards the end when you have just a few missing but youre not sure where, but the enemies being dodgeable made it feel a lot more fair and not overly brutal, since you were able to use the fun mechanics and movement to swerve and avoid them! Great job with this one, was a blast!
This project has to be the most fun I've had in all the GMTK 2023 games so far!! I absolutely love weaving through enemies. The motions all felt super fluid, everything about this just injects seratonin into my brain. The pixel sprites were just perfect for the vibe, the death sprites were fun and satisfying, and human durability as a play on health is just incredibly funny. Awesome job!! Found myself replaying this one a couple of times!
While I can't do local multiplayer, the art style I was able to look at was super great, the music was excellent, and the elements of polish like the bounce of the character select screen to the music was excellent. I would love to try this sometime with friends, it looks like a lot of love went into it!
Really fun concept - in execution I think the map felt a little slow paced, and since you cant perform many actions other than timing when you spawn creatures it can take a little while to build up so it doesnt quite fit that 'strategy high'. I think with some polish, and maybe the ability to choose spawn zones/switch paths your creatures walk down, an extra layer of strategy could be added!
The art style is great though, I love the tower and creature designs!
