Overall pretty good game so far I will list some pros and cons
Pros = 1. The testflight beta version has quite alot of features and extra features everyrhing from 6 different selections for graphic qaulity to resizing the screen and controls that aspect is very very well executed
2. Along with all of the extra features And customization options comes alot of core gameplay features aswell because this is a survival based top down shooter your dealing with waves of enemys and building your own base structure/ environment and there are a lot of options KUDOS dev for implementing so many selections 馃挴
3. The roguelike aspect is really fun and greatly boosts the level of customization you an achieve
CONS = 1. The Screen Size Is Kinda Wonky For Edge To Edge Devices Like Mine I Have An IPhone 12 S and there is no options to adjust screen size but every other option around it lol
2. Resizing And Picking Different On Screen Touch Controls Layout And Position Aswell As Game Screen Zoom And Adjustments
3. The Aiming Mechanic Should Have A Different Control Scheme Other Than The 2 Finger Swipe Gesture Because It Makes For Unstable Aiming Adjustments No Matter How Fast Or On Point Your Aiming Skills Might Be
4. 1 Thing This Game Is Missing That Would Sooo Beef Up The Graphic And Performance Overall Would Be Implementing OpenGL Metal Shaders And Rendering Alot Of The New Games And Emulators Have Been Using New And Improved OpenGL Metal Rendering And Shaders Over The Standard OpenGL and Vulkan Shaders And Rendering
5. A More robust storyline is needed
EXTRAS = ON SCREEN SHADERS THAT CAN BE TOGGLED AND SELECTED IN THE SETTINGS MENU
AUTOPLAY IMPLEMENTING A.I. AND MACHINE LARNING CODING TO HAVE AN AUTOPLAY FEATURE THAT WORKS GOOD
OVERALL RATING = 84/100 OVERALL PRETTY SOLID FOR WHAT I HAVE TESTED SO FAR I WILL PROVIDE A MORE THOROUGH UPDATE OF THIS FERDBACK/REVIEW UPON FURTHER TESTING OF SAID GAME GOOD JOB SO FAR DEV THIS IS ACTUALLY A GAME THAT SEEMS LIKE IT WILL BE FUN TO FOLLOW THE FUTURE UPDATES OF SOLID AF
such good potential here i think you nailed best projectile mechanics for annes homebrew shmup and tied for the best ive seen oon the nes period overall now you can focus on the enemys storyline cutscenes collision detection beef up thalready solid weaving game loop you have goinon lessen the difficulty for begginers add a 30fps rate limit option trust me since your projectiles are able to achieve a constant 6fps when in the state of animation it wilcreate whats known as an fps interval offset and you wil gea truetl0hz refresh rate anywherfrom 70.10hz all the way to 90.00hz this is a trick that can be used to boost your games fps output it will say 30 on fps gauges but its truly 70-90 hz offsetted by the v sync background headers and the 30fps locked work ing at the same time and this only works if u canlock in at 30fps when you see a game running 60fps on your device
keep going on devving this gbc rom in the world of shmups you got something really good right here.
I would even suggest making a series out of it where you have same characters and some additional characters and keep the storyline the same but keep it evolving from game to game and add different types of shmups to the series maybe even make some pc engine ports overall stunning wothere can't wait for the final release .k
this has potential I'll be tracking the future updates on this one I encourage you to continue because graphically in mechanically and game mechanism wise you have something very good going here all of the rough parts you already have tackled here without going in the too much detail this would also make a hell of a good template you should consider creating and porting a game engine out of this with what's here for the starting template as well as boarding it to Android or trying to upload it to the Google play store ;)
It is complex strategy not something you can easily play right away wich is both a con and a plus at the same time the storyline is captivating and the dialog screens are very well implemented and designed.
The Game mechanics are solid as far as fps and how they loop and perform framerate and graphics wise but the control scheme here is a problem you have start as the button for not only skipping turns but also main progression of the game without reading the manual this takes awhile to figure out on your own and takes away from the game interest overall solid concept and this has potential to be something g like fire Emblem someday with alot of work ;)

FOLLOW LINK TO PLAY GAME YOU CAN PLAY IT ON GITHUB ITSELF!!馃挴
In order to play this game follow the link and then in a Seperate tab using your web browser open up Google or whatever other search engine you use and search for "Microsoft Makecode Arcade" then go back to this github page and follow the instructions presented in the Readme of how to import this game as an extension into Microsoft Makecode Arcade You Can Play It Or Use It As A Template And Develop Your Own Space Shooter Out Of It It Is A Complete Game And How It Relates To The Round 1 Rules Of GDKO 2025 Game Jam Is That The Core Mechanic Is The Shooting If Lazers Secondary Mechanic Is The Disintegration Of The Big K Clumps/Asteroid Chunks That Takes Place When You Hit Them With A Shot And Destroy Them Thus Letting You Progress Your Score To A Higher Score You Get 3 Hits Before Your Toast In The Top Left Is Your Health Bar Wich Is Represented By 3 Heart Sprites And A Padded Health Bar Overlay On The Top Left Is Your Total Score For The Round Each K-Clump/Asteroid Destroyed Is Worth 100 Points How Many Points Can You Get?? This Is my 1st submission on any game jam ever so take it easy on me everything presented in the game was handrawn and handmade from scratch including the games soundtrack thank u all and have fun (side note this game does have multi-player replay ability potential you can use the end of each round and keep track of the scores and come up with your own tournament/multi-player score system and Roadmap whilst playing this game I spent hours making sure that was a possibility and would work correctly) also I spent alot of time on the surface friction and latency aspects of the game as you will see it's very very reactive to your button presses and the game loop is very stable and ready for fast paced pick up and play action if anyone has any questions or needs help on how to import the game into Microsofts Makecode arcade and play and use it as your own project feel free to ask here in the comments ;)
okay imma start this off by saying I've played hundreds of diff sonic hacks and fan games and mods and this is by far the best rendition across all platforms it makes a Robo blast in and Time twisted look bad lol before I played this version time twisted is a close comparison the android apk port of time twisted what makes this better having less features and menu selection compared to time twisted and robo blast is this is like a faithful remix it sticks more to the OG Core mechanics with a twist of flavor than Time Twisted Does Time Twisted Feels Like Your Playing A Sonic Game That Was Made Using Android Studio To Compile Whilst This Sonic Advanced APK Alternate Version Feels Like A Modded Genesis Version Of Sonic Slightly Ported Over To Android As An APK There Is A Very Tiny Bit Of Bugginess In Gameplay As This Seems To Be Using Windowed Surface Hardware Rendering Instead Of OpenGL ES 3.0 Rendering Or Threaded Software Or IR Rendering I Have To Tilt My Hat Off To U On This 1 Bro After Level 1 I Already Am Staking This As My Favorite Version Of Sonic To Play Period Overall As I Passed The Finish Line On LVL 1 I Was Flabbergasted To See Knuckles (Whom I Was Using) Have An Extra Smooth Celebration Animation Added To His Sprite With Looping Characterstics At The End It Continued To Loop Smoothly And Seamlessly For 7 Seconds After I Passed The Finish Line Of LVL 1 That Was The Icing On The Cake Great Job Dev Now I'm a Peep Your Other Projects (Keep Porting GBA Remakes Like This) 馃挴馃
love your channel bro keep it up I know your channel is called Sega zone but you should start covering the fan made games and Homebrew games and Romhacks and translation roms for every other retro game console e.g. SNES,PSX,Arcade (MESS And MAME) And So On So Forth If You Google Search Emulation Megathread Or Roms Megathread Those are 2 good sources aswell as The Internet Archive Also Romhacking.net cdromance.org Github And Many Others You Can Also Use The Web Browser/app Arc Search On IOS And Its The Best Search Engine With AI Built In Trust Me Ive Tried Them All Another Good One Is Liner For IOS but with liner it's better at notetaking and saving your prompts/questions you ask it later and last but not least MarkMark Another IOS App That Saves Links In The App Itself And Lets You Browse Thru Them With Correct Icons For Any URL You Type Into It And A Neat Scrollable Interface With All Of These Sources You Should Have No Problem Featuring All The Other Rom/game Types I Meantioned Above great channel keep the good content flowing and.keep the download.links.in your description rolling ;)
i purchased the full game and it is definitely worth it everything's good the only thing I would improve upon are the scaling of the default game screen it could use a little more zoom or scale to it and the jumping mechanics are really stiff like there's a high amount of surface friction applied in the coding ;)
okay I love thundercats I was born in 91 and watched it religiously as a kid when I first started this Rom/game I thought this might be the best game on itch.io right now we'll after the intro music kicked in and I started playing I quickly realized how bad the gameplay mechanics are but then at lvl 3 and 4 started noticing that everything slowly get more difficult as you progress thru lvl to lvl even the way the game was coded and it's performance slightly gets better Wich makes this a truly unique gem right here I highly recommend checking this 1 out and if you know how to dissassemble and edit a Genesis Rom File and recompile it using sgdk or any other Genesis development kit then this one might also be worth checking out that way so u can see how the code progresses Along with the game itself good job dev ;)
looking forward to future versions of this great Schmup good job dev only issue is some slight improvements to gameplay and gfx and that's it like the shooting mechanics different power up system and try to enhance the gfx to 24 or 32 or even true full 16 bit color and add opengl shaders as an in game option
