very cute gameplay and graphics!! i didn't realize how to spin so i was just playing in a more straightforward way. around in the 50s i noticed that the audio cut out (probably when the track ended) so that might need to be looped. great work!!!!!!

REALLY LOVED THIS MECHANIC!!! and the story was good too; very stardew valley. i think in the future it could be cool on relying on some other formats to relay some of the text rather than just the text (like roottrees is dead which i also LOVE!!) to make the game a little more stimulating. also the visuals after u submit the headlines with the text circling .... phenomenal
this is a really neat concept for a game!! i agree w the commenter below that some added ui (i really loved the pixel style of the cards and wondered if it could be extended throughout the whole game) and audio would make it more visually engaging. also, maybe having the wheel strike out the cards you can play instead of forcing you to choose a card might add a little more player agency into the gameplay.
hi!! first off, thank you for playing and giving me this feedback; really appreciate your time!!
i did not know it didn't fun in firefox i'll have to test that out! thanks for your kind words about the characterization i think writing the dialogue was my favorite part.
i actually added in the npcs moving the background at the last minute to make the screen more dynamic but couldn't fix the walking in front problem but that's def something i'll be fixing when i re-release a post-game jam version of the game!!
i completely agree w this! i think right now it goes through all the "noun" links in order but i think it would have been better if each npc type remembered what conversation "nouns" they've started from. i also generally needed to add more variations/branching paths but ran out of time :(
the gaslight and pleading mechanic is just complete RNG where each npc has different thresholds; i initially wanted to make it a super tiny minigame but ran out of time.
i'll def see what i can do about the pitch shifting as well; i agree that it can get a little repetitive after a long conversation.
THANK YOU AGAIN!!
hi thank you for playing!! i really do need that instant text print out feature i realized that way too late into development. also i was actually originally going to have a "you have to spin the sign correctly to initiate a conversation" mechanic but i got caught up fixing my many bugs :( but will def do it when i clean up this game in the future!!
saw your message on disc! i wanted to say that i loved the atmosphere and the movement of this game. i wish it didn't end prematurely and we could take as much time as we wanted to linger in this universe, but i understand why you did it. i think it could also be cool to have more things to read/interact w on the way if you wanted to lean into the story/atmosphere element fully; imo i don't think there's anything wrong w not being a traditional game or a walking sim as long as u commit to the story!!
had the same issue :( art looks beautiful though.
not sure if this will help fix it, but worth looking into for publishing post-jam: https://seansleblanc.itch.io/better-minimal-webgl-template
did i get cooked doing this solo? yes https://psychouts.itch.io/spin-to-sandwich
very serious, very engaging, and very danganronpa of you (a the goofy animal mascot in a game of death way)!! i also wish the mini games could have been a tiny bit shorter and more varied BUT it was a game jam so it makes sense. additionally i really loved the mini game music; it was so ominous, stressful, and perfectly on theme.
the visuals here are beautiful!!!great art and great sound. u guys need to teach me how to do lighting in unity for my also paper mario inspired game :) i was having a bit of trouble hitting the first enemy. if you guys decide to continue developing (YOU SHOULD!!), i'd love if when i restarted i could restart from after the dialogue portions happened.
