REALLY LOVED THIS MECHANIC!!! and the story was good too; very stardew valley. i think in the future it could be cool on relying on some other formats to relay some of the text rather than just the text (like roottrees is dead which i also LOVE!!) to make the game a little more stimulating. also the visuals after u submit the headlines with the text circling .... phenomenal

really like the core mechanic of this game! the concept was fun and i like the characters a lot. i think the gameplay was a little repetitive because i didn't know what i was building up to in the end, but it makes sense w the game jam format. hope u continue to develop this!!

this is a really neat concept for a game!! i agree w the commenter below that some added ui (i really loved the pixel style of the cards and wondered if it could be extended throughout the whole game) and audio would make it more visually engaging. also, maybe having the wheel strike out the cards you can play instead of forcing you to choose a card might add a little more player agency into the gameplay.

1) thanks for making a build  i can play and 2) THIS GAME IS SO POLISHED!!! cannot believe this was made for a game jam. really loved the multitasking!! it brought me back to my high school days. though just like back then i am still not good at it but nonetheless super fun time

hi!! first off, thank you for playing and giving me this feedback; really appreciate your time!!

i did not know it didn't fun in firefox i'll have to test that out! thanks for your kind words about the characterization i think writing the dialogue was my favorite part.

i actually added in the npcs moving the background at the last minute to make the screen more dynamic but couldn't fix the walking in front problem but that's def something i'll be fixing when i re-release a post-game jam version of the game!!

i completely agree w this! i think right now it goes through all the "noun" links in order but i think it would have been better if each npc type remembered what conversation "nouns" they've started from. i also generally needed to add more variations/branching paths but ran out of time :(

the gaslight and pleading mechanic is just complete RNG where each npc has different thresholds; i initially wanted to make it a super tiny minigame but ran out of time.

i'll def see what i can do about the pitch shifting as well; i agree that it can get a little repetitive after a long conversation.

THANK YOU AGAIN!!

hi thank you for playing!! i really do need that instant text print out feature i realized that way too late into development. also i was actually originally going to have a "you have to spin the sign correctly to initiate a conversation" mechanic but i got caught up fixing my many bugs :( but will def do it when i clean up this game in the future!!

thank you!! appreciate it :)

thank you!!! i love to see other spin the narrative enthusiasts :)

thank you for playing!!

THANK YOU FOR PLAYING!!! i'm glad u liked the characters i had sm fun writing them!! also i wanted to say i saw some pen flipping gifs in the disc which were so cool; if you make a mac build of ur game i'm playing it immediately!!

saw your message on disc! i wanted to say that i loved the atmosphere and the movement of this game. i wish it didn't end prematurely and we could take as much time as we wanted to linger in this universe, but i understand why you did it. i think it could also be cool to have more things to read/interact w on the way if you wanted to lean into the story/atmosphere element fully; imo i don't think there's anything wrong w not being a traditional game or a walking sim as long as u commit to the story!!

omg i saw this earlier in the jam!! it looks so fun i wish there was a mac build

THANK YOU!! i really need to patch that but sometimes it's so funny

thank you so much!! i definitely need to fix the shadows; they were kind of placeholders that i never swapped out. the shadow disc is a good idea i might go with that.

thank you!!!

beautiful art and i like our antagonistic boss and the general progression. i wish i had a failure sheet of what i'd failed on in the past that i could analyze and maybe then i could beat the mid coffee allegations. a fun time!!!

THANKS! yeah i need to take the tutorial text out of the intro and into the game when i polish it. also THANK YOU FOR PLAYING glad u liked it

LOL i think in my next iteration i'll have a timer and "time's up!" animation so we can pre-empt the jumpscare in the future

thanks queen

had the same issue :( art looks beautiful though.

not sure if this will help fix it, but worth looking into for publishing post-jam: https://seansleblanc.itch.io/better-minimal-webgl-template

super relaxing, love the art style, and i like how ominous the animals are. however, after i did the first mission, i got tons of fish. then, i went to the sheep, who told me to get a sick fish, which i'd gotten a few of. when i checked my inventory, all the fish from before were gone!!!

hi i was also confused on how to fish but i figured it out! i think you only reel in fish when the exclamation appears over the main character's head, not when it bobs.

so cute very relaxing

also could not find the rats but liked the theme! it would have been nice if the characters were a bit closer together and there was a little more to do than collect and give items (maybe a mini game). ending was strangely cinematic though big fan

OH WAIT okay i tried the beginning out again and this makes sense!! even though it might be too late to make build edits you could make a note in the description if the bug fix time isn't over!!

would love if you showcased this!! https://psychouts.itch.io/spin-to-sandwich

I LOVE PUZZLE GAMES!! this is the perfect "i'm so close to solving this i can just taste it" game. i love how dialing the numbers on the sticky notes serve as natural sanity checks.

the aesthetic was interesting + i liked the premise!! i was a little confused by the spin making the entire store dark regardless of what time of day it was, and i agree w the below commented that some signs would be nice.

did i get cooked doing this solo? yes https://psychouts.itch.io/spin-to-sandwich

loved the voice acting, the music, and the aesthetics!! got past like an enemy and a half but i could only parry and not shoot and then ended up erm dying. also probably a skill issue. LET ME KNOW IF U UPLOAD A TUTORIAL!!

another dialogue based game enthusiast!!! really great spin on the theme. also this game feels strangely personal i feel like u got to the core of something here

I WISH I CAME UP WITH THIS!! such a great mechanic AND u made so many puzzles in such a short time!!! also the art and the sound design was the cherry on top

this is a great mechanic wish i came up w it!!!

a little hard to navigate but i love the art and design!!

very serious, very engaging, and very danganronpa of you (a the goofy animal mascot in a game of death way)!! i also wish the mini games could have been a tiny bit shorter and more varied BUT it was a game jam so it makes sense. additionally i really loved the mini game music; it was so ominous, stressful, and perfectly on theme.

LOVED PLAYING THIS!!!! i love games where u have to remember details and present them so this was super fun for me. well executed and funny.

the visuals here are beautiful!!!great art and great sound. u guys need to teach me how to do lighting in unity for my also paper mario inspired game :) i was having a bit of trouble hitting the first enemy. if you guys decide to continue developing (YOU SHOULD!!), i'd love if when i restarted i could restart from after the dialogue portions happened.

super classic and well done!! i have a terrible reaction time BUT enjoyed my attempts nonetheless :)

THIS IS LOVELY!!! it's so polished i cannot believe it was made during a game jam. legends. i love the voice acting and animation it has such whimsy.

this game is so well-executed. genuinely lovely to play and super fun mechanic. so spinny!
