Is it possible to play this game in windowed mode? As in not full-screen?

Game does not offer an option to turn on windowed mode and forces you to play fullscreen

I seem to be having problems playing this game with a controller. When navigating the menus it seems to work fine but in game, X, A, and B do not seem to be hitting any notes and Y causes me to instantly lose. Attached you will find the controller I am using.
