My grandad had this same issue. There is one possibilty that could fix this, dont click on the text box as if you do you type in lower case and cant enter prompts. otherwise I'm unsure how to fix this. My grandad run his on a virtual machine if you are doing the same this could somehow be related to the issue. Here is a video of the gameplay
