OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE COMMENT... Huge apologies I only opened my notifications after this long time as well

I never have any clue how to begin anything - letters, short stories, anything - but my philosophy with writing has developed into leaning into things rather than avoiding them, so I decided to give Roan my same exact problem. I also try really hard to be subtle with what I write, because I really value subtlety in others' works of fiction, so I'm really glad it came across!

I was also deep into RPGs when I wrote this haha (still am) and had been GMing a fantasy game with a ton of gods for some time - I drew a lot of inspiration from my experience with that when writing this

I haven't written anything further in this specific world in the almost-two-years since, but I do have a lot of other stories about gods and Chosen Ones I've been tucking away at, though very slowly (there's one particular project with very similar themes to this one that I'm really excited to finish whittling into shape). I find the idea of a direct connection with this sort of massive, magical authority really interesting, for a lot of reasons

The memory thing... yeah, I very much have been there as well. I do think Roan found his happy ending, though. I like to imagine him moving somewhere nice, with a lot of nature, maybe wherever Sage lives, and in that place he meets new people and gets a bit of a fresh start. As for the goddess, I think her and Roan have a good relationship. She definitely likes him and cares about him, in my head, though of course through the filter of her being a goddess and him being mortal

and thank you again for the last paragraph!! the charcoal look was achieved with custom Sai brushes lol. again, apologies for being very very late, but thank you so much!!!

apologies for being so late - thank you for the comment!!!

I did imagine Roan's world to be a sort of contemporary modern world, but with gods and magic and such in it, so you were right on the money! I don't know if I'll continue this particular story, since what I like to write the most are the sad / unfulfilled / star-crossed / one-sided / tragic / etc type of romances, but I do like to imagine Roan had a happy ending nonetheless

apologies for being so late - but thank you so much!!

OH THIS WAS SO INTERESTING. I didn't notice the lily on my first runthrough (like a silly goose) and I was surprised at the brevity - I took a peek at the description and only then realized there was an entire GAME MECHANIC i hadn't even thought about!!! i think the mechanic is absolutely brilliant even if I missed it at first, it was so interesting to check when to read Evelyn's mind (though I appreciated how forgiving it was, considering I'm really bad at reading expressions haha). & i'm so curious about what could potentially be going on, supernatural-wise, it sounds fascinating!!! This was great, really fun to play and I'd honestly love to play even longer games w this mechanic lololol, it's very very fun to interact with. absolutely lovely!!!

the voice acting in this novel is so good!!! and the UI is so pretty, too!!! The art is so great as well... and I liked the usage of "seeing the forest for the trees" as a positive thing, I haven't heard the phrase used like that before but it worked so well! and also the typewriter noises in the UI are so fun hehe. This was also SO SWEET, I'm so happy for Hugo...!!! and what a great usage of the ugly duckling fairytale too... just so many good and fun things in this game I am struggling to list them in order hahaha. Wonderful stuff!!!! Extremely well executed!!

omg the visual composition of the game is so amazing... the usage & thought of the color palette is great too, the artstyle, everything visual was (haha) chefs kiss. I really liked Diana's character too, she came across as very thoughtful and interesting to converse with!! i really liked her explanations about flavors especially the matcha conversation, I hope she got her steak hahakfdsf. it also made me hungry and i want to bake some chocolate cake now, lol

ohhh... while reading this I felt so moved by the Prince and Snow White's dilemma... and the flower ending made me so happy!! their love is so sweet... I care them, your honor!! I also really liked the design for Snow White, her dress and her hair loose on her pillow... This was really fun to play and sweetly sad to read!! (and plain sweet when it was talking about their relationship previous to her sleep/at the end hahah) i hope these two can continue their love their own way, happily, henceforth ;w;

this was really fun and well-written!! when the mc started talking about trust I immediately connected really hard with him... i really felt what he was saying haha. I don't think i reached every ending, but the ones I saw were all super interesting characterwise and great fun (and, save the coffee ending, really cute), and i liked them all a lot. what a lovely game!!

this was so cute!!! the ending was so cute, i hope the lads got their food hahaha. huge fan of the changes in scene made possible between the texting interface, dialogue bubbles in the dark, and then the snowy background+sprite... i think it's a really cool way of doing something with the limitations!! + i too would be head over heels for someone who brought me a hot drink on a snowy day tbh <3. very sweet!!! (+ the artstyle is very fun too!!)
