You are being illogical. The choice in the game to "call the ex" is merely a decision Wanda makes in her mind but then later changes her mind, the order or the events is presented in such a way that THAT is only discovered by the player later on. It changes nothing. She made a choice to call ex, she changed her mind, and it is done.

You do realize that if you choose to call her ex, in the end she never calls her ex. You know that, right?

Also, the Faye scene ends after the conversation she has with Wanda (after the flashback that involves Nicole)

Dum and Sub points will affect the trajectory of the story, and will also dictate the nature of certain sex scenes. As for character paths, Faye and Lois are still a possibility to be with Wanda together. Nicole can also be paired with Faye. But you must understand that there will be consequences to actions, you may not get the happy ending you want, it will depend.

Only Gene and Faye cannot be together. The opportunity is still there for Gene and Lois, or Faye and Lois.

You must choose

You have to separate routes. Start fresh, make sure to only use saved files from patch if you are using patch, and without patch if you are not using patch. Not every character can end up with Wanda simultaneously, she's not a whore, so choose wisely. If you can't get Gene content along with Faye, then that means things have changed and you must choose one or the other 

There will be sales, as always 

If you purchased the game before, you should have the latest update.

1. If your save files are from patch, make sure you load with patch. If your save files are not from patch, make sure you load without patch.

2. You may have picked the wrong choices and don't have enough points.

A patch to change relationship status, if player desires. Put it in the "game" folder (that's inside the Ms Denvers folder)

Is this from your file manager? You need to extract the zip file and open folder, there will be an .exe file that you double click. There isn't supposed to be an installation, necessarily.

What happens when you open the zip file and click the .exe? Perhaps your antivirus (or windows defender) has flagged it and that is the reason you can't install.
