My main complaint is that it's hard to tell where to use the instruments. I'd recommend some visual reaction when you play, even if it's the wrong notes.

Yeah, I think I skipped it on accident... Something about coming back to this game after a good night's sleep made some stuff I know I tried before suddenly work today. Now I'm stuck on the second music wall in fungitown!

I got the Flute, which I've also been trying in various places to no avail... I don't seem able to progress anywhere else, so I hope I didn't miss anything. 

Having a ton of trouble with this puzzle... I've got 3 possible leads, and none of them seem to be working. 

I have tried: Mimicking the path shown in the northern cave, Mimicking the path leading to the obelisk in the southeast, and navigating using the number grid in the hidden cave above the shack.
