Hello! :D
We have a pretty strict NoAI Policy in terms of generative AI (with Voice Overs being an ok but not well perceived exception).
Therefore please do NOT use AI to generate any assets, textures etc.

There are more creative ways, a lot of plattforms offer royalty free footage of human faces from multiple sites you could use for models!
So, no - no AI generated content.

This is the normal way to upload a game to itch.io - this is the inteded way for the jam! You can make a browser game, but that is not mandatory.

Wrong place for this.

I think most of the infromations about the cases are public along with images etc. - you would need to do some more research on that I think.
Though in terms of game design, I would suggest something like a police document or so showing up in the end with information.

There are many approaches to include the information in terms of game design. Be creative! :D

Voice Actors do NOT count as full team members - as long as their contribution is limited to just the voice acting! :D

No - rules clearly state only games on itch.io will be accepted as entries for the game jam.

Not at all - the cases do not need to match. Real life serial killer just means you need to choose an actual serial killer and can create a completly fictional plot.

It just needs to feel real and plausible. Hope that helps! :D

(1 edit)

Nobody is speaking of a 1:1 creation of serial killers case. As the rules state, the game needs to be inspired by a real serial killer and the plot needs to feel plausible and real.

Though this has been constantly stated by Gunscreen in multiple posts in the community tab, check out the other posts for his detailed answer.

You can upload games greater then 1 GB to itch.io - tho its up to you. All we need is your game on the game page here and not outsourced somewhere else. If the game is playable on your game page that should be good enough.

The Jam should be horror related + the game needs to be based on a real world serial killer, which isnt quit the stuff for a "silly game"

Thanks for playing!

Ayyy! Thank you! Hope you liked it and got atleast a little spooked haha

The game here on itch.io will probably be just a standalone project, that I will (probably) not develop any further. This was ment as a little side project for the charity #TeamWater Jam.

If you have seen the video, you probably know that I have big plans for the concept behind this game, which will be pretty time consuming. So the Steam Version will definetly be paid - though as a lot of people in my community do not have very deep pockets, I will only ask a fair price with a possible discount at the start. Game might cost 5-10$, possible discount would probably bring it to 5$ so people can actually afford it.

I am working solo, so I am unsure how long this will take - but I am planning on making a cool, affordable experience for everyone.
Hope that clears it up a little :)

Thank you! :D

Thank you! :D

Currently working on a Multiplayer version of this. Will be inspired by Lethal Company and Content Warning :D

Most definetly! I consider the game as one of my best works so far - currently working on a Multiplayer version and a campaign for a steam release!

Glad you liked it!

Thanks! Yeah didn't had the time to make alternative endings with only 4 days, but glad you liked it!

Glad you liked it! The subtle scary ambience was exactly what I was going for - and yeah, even AIA got a bit spooked on Stream

Like I lwk got addictd and broke the game lmao - it was just sooo fun to see the level up and scaling in this idle game!

Super fun!

Figured it out! Maybe it was because of my 21:9 screen resolution or so, but when playing it in fullscreen the hitbox was overlaying the digging spot actually - so yeah. Very good game, had me a bit confused for the first time

I didn't actually lol, for some reason the cows hitbox was overlaying the digging spot on my screen. Wait let me try on another screen size.

Thanks!

Thank you!

Glad you fw it! :D

Cool game! Definetly keep working on it, the artstyle is really, really cool :D

Yeah I am also familar with that concept - that's how my recent game jam submission also was handled. Though for this one it was only optional, so I thought why not make an actual good 3D game with some story and stuff instead of making the next browser cookie clicker but with water this time lol.

Have you played it though? Or were you scared of getting malware?

Loving it! :D
Fire game, it's crazy addicting how the progressing in this game is designed. Like fr though, good job.

Yeah, I did that - but I needed 5$ and only got 4.5$ out of it. And afterwards people didnt want to buy my water anymore and only gave me 0$ low - so it was kinda soft-locking itself. Some starting amount of money and the instructions saying something like "Hey! It's time to build your own water purification system! Buy some equipment from gramps over her!" and then everything would have turned out for the better.

Still interesting and good concept! :D

Really cool game! Was really feeling the overall vibe to it! As other comments already mentioned it was a bit hard to work with the pipe switching mechanic to begin with, as the window just kept scrolling lol.

But super cool game tbh and 3D support for browser is always good! :D

Cool concept of planting wells by clicking and so on - but for some reason I can also place wells in the sky lol. Still cool game ideras, love the little animation explaining how the whole system works, but what I think is kinda a missing is actual gameplay - right now you just press a button a couple of time and then plaster the whole screen with wellls. And that's it. Maybe desining it more like a clicker game (similar to cookie clicker, but with water) would have been more interesting.

Still a decent idea and good job!

Interesting concept though sadly - I think - already the second level is bugged, as I cant connect to one of the water points at all? Like it only shows me this red cross even though I should be able to place something there.

Would have been a cool game though, like the idea!
Good Job!

Very cool and calming game! Liked it a lot, but in the beginning the production is soooo painfully slow xD

Btw cool easter egg with the 'Bo'le o' wota' sound effects, hilarous.

Yeah but I couldn't get the equipment for some reason, as I did not have enough money

Înteresting idea, I just don't really understood what the point was I think? It is a fun little animation/simulation, but that's really it (if I did not miss anything). Would have been cool if you were able to upgrade your pumps/filters or something making money from selling water and stuff like that giving it... yk, basic gameplay which is kinda missing.

Like the idea behind it though! Good job!

Really interesting game, had trouble understanding the fish catch mechanic at first. With the white bar I expected it to be like a quick time event at first, where you had to wait until a fish bites and then start realing it in.

On top of that some sound effects for catching a fish or some visual hints that you caught one - like an extra screen presenting the fish with stats like weight and health - would have been good, but the is already pretty fun. Like a lot about it, just needs some polishing and sound design.

Very cool game tho!

Art style is really cool! Very calming :D

Gmae looks really cool and its style, the UI and the music kind of remind me of Civilizations - though I did not quite catch the base mechanics of this game, as I just kept spawning new citziens swarming out and gathering ressources and they had the ability to wait? or water something? (or break stuff they were on)

Interesting game concept, didn't quite catche the gameplay mechanics here amd didn't know what to do, so it became boring really quickly.

Decent game though!

Glad you like it! :D
