I mean, that's more of a case of the product page being wrong than the book which went through editing, but this is also a 400 page indie crunchy tactical book, so I can't promise there are 0 mistakes in the game. Thank you for pointing this out, I will update the product page. If you'd like, you can look at the player's guide for free to determine if the game is for you or not.

Ah, that would be why! Current version of the sheet is V1.17 for players, and V1.16 for the GM sheet. Current player sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HG2urf-4l6qa7uQehIKUPA1ehPDwjxcHAWClh-hj...
NPCs do not have a standard way to clear stress. It's intentional that if they only have 1 Overstress cap, and exceed it, they're vulnerable for the rest of the fight.
Basically, if you've gotten them to that point, you get to reap the benefits for the rest of the fight/their existence, which likely won't be long.
You are correct, thank you! I've updated the file on the Pirate Gonzalez Games website, that file should now be V1.16.1. Your download link should still work, and if you access it again should get you the new version. If it doesn't please reach out to me at PirateGonzalezGames@Gmail.com and I'll send you the new file ASAP!
No updates planned to the core game books, just additional supplements like Prismaxia. The character sheets and GM Worksheets will continue to be in Gsheets, as any type of official program is way outside of budget.
However, there are interactive sheets being worked on for virtual tabletops by fans. There's a fancy one in active development for Foundry!
Just to confirm, are you using a link to an actual excel download, or the online google sheets?
There is! You can buy directly from my website here: https://www.pirategonzalezgames.com/store/beacon-core-book
Certainly! You can definitely reflavor jobs as mechs, and the example Gigan reflection even mentions mechs. However, if your group are interested in doing fantasy mecha, it might be worth seeing if Lancer can slot it in easier. Either Lancer or Beacon will require some reflavoring, but depending on your tastes, one might be a better foundation.
Either way, both are great games! If you want to get more opinions, I'd recommend either games' discord communities. I'd be surprised if the question hasn't be raised in PilotNet (Lancer's Discord) before.
"At the beginning of any round, if you successfully released a Channel ability in the previous round, you can spend 1 MP to immediately Channel".
Yes, if in Round 1 you released a channel ability, then at the start of round 2, you can spend 1 MP and start channeling. This don't count as a turn, doesn't take an action, so you're free to do whatever you want during your 2nd turn.
Skalds are very good at chaining together channel effects each round, as long as they have the MP to continue.
A hardcover purchase (either from me or IPR) comes with a free PDF.
The only 'exclusive' content is the soon-to-be-release Prismaxia supplement. That was a free stretch goal for Kickstarter backers, but will be sold separately for anyone else once available.
All of the other material was added to the core book, so it's included when you buy the base game.
Let me know if you have any questions!
Yep! Softcovers are available as print on demand through drivethrurpg. https://preview.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/468286/beacon-ttrpg
That's probably the best way to handle it. I think that part of the roll table was unchanged from an early version where skills/spells were distinct things, instead of being lumped together. Alternatively, use the GM sheet Loot Crate generator to roll them for you :) https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JlmT5Ap2TLDfngUFxeqxLoQmoZrxwYBODeidLkf8...
