It's a false positive -- sometimes this game trips Windows antivirus, as do many.

You could tell Windows that it's okay and run it anyway, but no hard feelings if you don't want to after that.

Thank you for letting me know specifically what it was detected as though -- I'll see if there's anything I can do to make it less  sussy to Windows.

Praise the lord, I needed a new text editor!

Man, I hate it when I have TRNWILIANEDAMSBAFSRIAN, but I sure like this game!

I love all the little details and events -- the sprites are really charming and the gameplay idea is really unique and interesting.

I got stuck on a loading screen for a minute or two though and had to bail :(
I think it was the second or third loading screen I hit though, so I don't think it's a problem with the loading screen in general. Would definitely try it again!

I'm glad you liked it, warts and all!

And thanks for letting me know it worked - it's kinda tough knowing whether the engine relies on some things that are specific to the few machines I've tested it on.

Played it! Pretty neat concept -- I like how you have to time your direction to shoot the enemies, and I like how the enemies have health bars on them. The aesthetic is nice too!

A few suggestions:
- The difficulty curve is a little too steep
- Maybe let the player recover some health when they get the shop
- Rename the Build folder to bitdungeong before zipping -- just a nice little thing when people are downloading several games during a jam.

I'm sorry to hear that, but thank you so much for letting me know.

I issued a patch should make the game work on more machines.

The game required a GPU and drivers capable of OpenGL 4.5 before, but now it only requires OpenGL 4.0, or OpenGL 3.3 if you play the version without grass.

When I entered the first room I got pounded with thousands of bullets, and the game completely froze :( Looks fun from the screenshots, though!

Thanks for the feedback! This game definitely didn't end up as feature-full as I'd wanted it for the jam submission -- jump/i-frame-dash, better bullet patterns, and a win-state are definitely the first things I'll add if I go back to this project

In one word: Inspirational

The possible ones are listed/vote-able here: https://minijamofficial.glitch.me/

And normally in jams they only reveal either the theme, limitation, or both when the jam starts so people don't start really working on the game specifics until the jam starts. Otherwise someone could have just started making the game weeks ago when this jam was first announced.

Thanks for playing, and I appreciate the kind words!

I totally agree about the bullets though -- I really ran out of time at the end of this jam and had trouble tuning the patterns to be interesting and challenging yet doable.

Also there isn't a win state. I'm actually going to update the description to mention that so more people aren't confused.
Your game was really fun though, very polished!
