this is a very clever game - i think that the move selection could be improved (unless i was going about it the wrong way ...i didnt watch the tutorial) I thought it was well executed and well designed ...this is a very difficult concept to execute in 9 days ....so good job!

I think there's definitely potential here and like the art ....and any game featuring a top hat gets a big thumbs up from me!...but looking at the screen shots i don't think i got far enough to discover its  true depth as i found it quite frustrating going though the wall and being left on the right ....while the hats on the left. ...i pressed r quite a lot. I love that the hat can be a jump pad and be thrown but im not sure about the player going invisible after throwing hat mechanic. the games very well executed though and well thought out .....thanks for adding a tutorial!

(1 edit)

i'm back ...so yesterday i hadn't read the description and was trying to boff him with the hat - note to new players.....you have to deflect the bullets with it!............spoiler alert........

so it goes from 1 bad guy .....to like 40! lol!

nice job - an entertaining game ...the humour reminded me of things like Jazzpunk

One of my favourites so far...nice slant on the theme and an original mechanic!

The art is fabulous - i lost my lantern! You're a bit stuffed when you've lost your lantern. If I get a chance .....i'll come back and try to find it!

Love it! I liked the music ......its a good fit for the game. The lighting and atmosphere are very good and it ran smoothly for me. I would have liked to have been able to look up a bit more ....the elavation is clamped at about 35 degrees. Looking through the walls sometimes left me wondering what i was looking at with everything being the same colour. Good job ....i should try more 3d stuff and what's put me off doing it is that I haven't really liked the look of GD 3d games - but there's been a few in the jam that have made me want to give 3d another go and this is one of them!

I really liked it! i think i did three levels. You can build some very strange structures!. There was some very bizarre physics happening once the balloons were added. I was trying to picture the logic used when dragging and creating and the men walking on the scaffold that's probably quite tricky to get right too...great job

Very slicky made, with great graphics ... i was a bit too tired to digest the game play properly and so i'll return to it tomorrow! ...with fresh eyes!

there's lots of lerp and variables called force and max force etc and point inside object checks - it was quite fiddly to get right but i hate playing around with physics 2 ....restitution etc....changing things by .01 and then testing it again and again!

I played it a few times...I liked the animations ....but i did fall through the 'special clouds' a couple of times! I went off to the left and was hoping for a doodle jump style character appears on the right ....but no ......i died! I liked that the clouds dipped when you landed!

lol - i did see that there was another top hat! ....mine was very nearly about gloves!. I did try yours out but i couldn't work out how to do a top hat attack.....will try again tomorrow morning!

Thanks DSM - I didn't use physics 2......i only use it when i can't find another way - its all forces and variables

thanks snowy  - not sure why - I just let the timer run out and nothing happened. did you have many other apps running at the time. I'll check the code - but im guessing that you can't update after the deadline.

Fantastic art and style - love the lift going up to the next level....good job! It took me a while to work out that i needed to use the mouse to attack! Runs very smoothly.

I got stuck at the fire. Love the door animation ....very slick!. Some of the sounds are a bit  too 8bit to fit. Clever use of light. Great graphics ! I've always found those isometric style controls tricky to get my head around - where up equals  up right and left equals up left etc.

The pixel art is the best ive seen in the gamejam so far! I didn't understand what was going on though. The swimming mechanic was well done. My main problem was how dark it all was.....i think the platforms need to stand out a bit more. Love the intro art and monsters

well done snowy - 2nd time playing - A simple idea well executed!

This is ingenious and the graphics a fantastic.......but it's quite a steep learning curve! i did make it to the platform above .....but sadly i got no further......the rotation mechanic perhaps needs to changing

Great Job....completed it. Just needed a gutter cleaning animation!

love the arrow mechanic....its a good looking game. It is difficult, and i found that the run acceleration was too high for me. I got past the first check point and dropped down the chimney and got stuck a bit higher up. Good job though!

Great Job! .....Looks ace and plays nicely ......sadly i didn't make it to the top! ....would have liked a wasd option

Great - many thanks for that. I wondered there was too much knock back and perhaps a bit more recovery time would be in order. I appreciate too that the start is a bit full on. I was going to have an introductory scene that introduces the mechanics but then decided  - to erm just get on with it. This is exactly the sort of feedback i was looking for - so many thanks for taking the time.

I think this is a great little retro space shooter! The enemy bullets were a little quick for my brain to process - so i didn't beat the boss but I really enjoyed it - i grew up on stuff like this!

I wondered whether the asteroids could come down at a random angle between 30 and minus 30 and bounce off each other?
