Oh dear I'm so sorry! I had no idea that was an issue! - I can either send you a free game key for each of the games via email so you can claim them for free. Or I can put some community copies up for you to claim them on here if you'd rather not supply your email. The alternative would be, as you suggested, to claim a refund and then purchase the bundle again with the three games added. I will also reach out to itch and ask them to please change it so that if more games are added to a bundle they are included for everyone who purchased it :)
It's fine - it's a mistake a lot of people make because the two words look very similar, even though they are in no way related.
Romania is a country in Europe and Romanians come from there.
Romani people (my people) are nothing to do with Romanians, we are a diaspora of India - the word Romani comes from our word 'Rom' which means 'person/people' :) xx
Hi lovely, it's Penny - I suddenly realised after I submitted that I'd better ask about this so I hope it's ok: my ten year old has made some cat games (he adores cats!) and when he heard about the jam and the charity he wanted to submit them so I just did just now - but then I suddenly thought is it ok that he's only ten (nine when he wrote the games)? Or does it have to be adults only bc it's going for sale? I suddenly though it might be an issue so if it is then I'm very sorry for not checking first, let me know and I'll withdraw them xx
Songs of despair and grief from broken souls - This has been on my heart to create for so long - but I never found the right outlet/ format for it. I think this one only works because it's so open ended. Our sorrow songs (mine, yours, each individual's) are so unique, so personal, to trap them in a universal form is to deny the lived experience of them and force them through a lens which may jar or distort their truth. I tried instead to give them wind beneath the wings here - so each player can choose the best and most intuitive expression. I hope that comes across and that the game helps people to express themselves authentically :) Thankyou for your supportive comments :) Are you Romani too? Or were you thinking of making a game based on a similar tradition in your own culture?
The actual game I'm hoping to submit - Basmu - is taking so much longer to make than I anticipated XD - so I have made a much smaller game instead and hope that people like it :) I'm still trying to finish the original game in time but this is such a wonderful and inspiring jam, I didn't want to risk submitting nothing at all :D SOOOOOoooo many amazing games are here already! What a beautiful and inspiring Jam, thanks so much for hosting it! :)
I'm really sorry the game didn't meet your expectations. It was made in the spirit of other minimal word open ended, lyrical games (like the single word rpg 'worms') and limited to 36 words for the 36 word game jam (each letter of the alphabet board counts as a word in the jam rules). I chose to keep the game as open to interpretation as possible and in playtesting I found that players used the prompt of two crows debating where they should dine today to use the alphabet board to generate narratives that were both playful and macabre. I'm very sorry that it didn't speak to your interests / imagination in a meaningful way.
Hiya! This is such a fab and creative jam I might have got carried away and made three games for it XD Is that ok? I submitted two so far but then I hesitated and second guessed myself and thought 'oh no - too much?' XD So apologies if it's only meant to be one submission, let me know and I'll remove two, it just REALLY got my brain working - it was so so hard a challenge for me and I loved trying to think outside the box and try to take the premise in different directions! :)
Hi everyone! I'm Penny, a ttrpg designer, editor and sensitivity reader :) I mostly make cozy, horror and folkpunk games inspired by my own (Romani) culture's folklore and mythos. I love all aspects of horror genre but for this jam I'm planning to make a short and punchy solo game using the theme of isolation :) I was super excited to find this jam that combines festive and horror - two of my fave themes to combo! - and I'm excited to see what everyone comes up with for it! :D I'll be putting community copies up of the game; if they run out and you want one please shout at me and I'll put more up - I try to make sure there's always community copies available for all but it's sometimes hard to notice when they run dry :)
