Corporate Ladder is a game which can only be described as a true "Hidden Gem". This diamond of a game magnificently transports the player into a typical 9-5 experience and will have you acting out your truest thoughts after a sluggish day of paper filing, excel work and coffee breaks. Its games like this which are not just fun party games but really ask us all a question, "Are we ok with the mundane corporate capitalistic society which our forefathers so graciously setup for us?" A spectacle of an experience that any modern wannabe philosopher or political pundit needs in their library. Play the game and question your own existence in this spine cracker of an adventure. 5 Stars, I cannot stop shaking.
Cattlefield puts players in a stunning visualization of the American Midwest and inadvertently delivers what might be game of the year. The beautiful soulful art style shows that modern AAA games simply cannot live up to such masterpieces if they do not put the same care and thought into their work. The traditional narrative of the UFO and its Alien inhabitant manages to not feel like an overdone trope or cliche but truly puts the user in a grounded world which leaves you emotional and attached to this magnum opus of a game. I am absolutely shaking in my boots after one game. 5 stars, amazing.
After one game of Tiny Terrors players will be left pondering "Was this script made by Shakespeare?" This magical time capsule of a game pits players against each other as you play as infants escaping a burning building. You will be feeling all sorts of nostalgia from your time as a thumb sucking , crayon grabbing mindless juvenile as you crawl your way to victory and leave your friends behind. Tiny Terrors stops to ask us about the innate human philosophy of selfishness and our willingness to abandon our colleagues in an effort to survive. Who can you trust? 5 stars, my jaw has dropped.
Just Roll With It transports players into a faithful, magical recreation of the world under our very own boots. JRWI as its more commonly known as, is not just a fun couch co-op game as these humble devs describe it as, but a true mind bender of an experience. JRWI has us drop our sinful and greedy lives and makes us consider the world and it's harsh reality. For once, we can see what it takes for some animals to survive in this cruel take no prisoners world, like for instance the humble Woodlouse, once barely a thought in the lives of most greedy overconsuming westernershas now been given the spotlight and as a result the harsh reality with it. Leave your comfortable Settee and experience a modern Macbeth, 5 stars, incredible.
Rockets'n'Roaches encapsulates the modern idea of ignorance and over indulgence by the human spirit and desire to harness and exploit the natural world. On the surface RnR seems like a harmless cockroach themed couch coop game but as you peel away the layers you reveal a metaphor for mans greed and the innocence of the timeless cockroach who at the end causes our own downfall. I simply cannot put this game down without having an existential crisis, 5 stars, I fear for my life.
