Heroic Archivist is a solo TTRPG that encourages you to play more TTRPG, and that is the kind of game I can get behind. It wants you to be an active participant in the TTRPG hobby and do the kinds of activities that can help grow it (make your own things! read what you get! rate and review! give feedback!).

In only a few pages, you have the beginnings of an interesting world that your Heroic Archivist can come alive in–one that you can easily embellish, adapt and remix to suit your own fancies. The mechanics are simple and sensible, and even with minimal TTRPG experience (like me!), you can pick it up and play.

I found the game so compelling that I’ve shared it in a few Discord servers already and even made my own supplement for the game (Partially because the game told me I get more points if I do it! See, it works?!).

If you would like to add more story to your roleplaying in this game, then I recommend using it with the One Page Solo Engine (OPSE). That’s what I did, and I was surprised by how quickly a story emerged by combining the mechanics of Heroic Archivist with OPSE.
