Fantastic Vibrations - I used some of these tracks in my first game jam game! Appreciate you! https://papa-lequavious.itch.io/echo

Skippable dialogue is definitely needed. You are right about that. The getting stuck bug unfortunately is hastily created collision masks on the tile map. If I revisit the project I plan to recreate the entirety of the two levels included using my own art and I will be spending much more time to make sure getting stuck to the ground just isn’t happening alongside a more intuitive respawn mechanic in the rare event it does still happen.
Out of curiosity, do you remember which level or object you were getting stuck on?
Thanks for playing the game and an even bigger thank you for the kind words and feedback!
Definitely agree with you about the tedium of the loop and platforming. A classic case of jam over scope and cut content. If I revisit the project I will 100% be focusing a lot more on ensuring the platforming and puzzles are actually interesting and the loop mechanics being much more compelling. Though maybe there is something to be said about you, the player feeling that sense of being trapped in the loop? Definitely needs to be addressed more deeply and intuitively however.
Thank you for playing the game and thank you even more for the feedback and kind words!
Hey qad! I know I am a bit late already but if you are willing and interested, I have a pretty great concept going that I am now beginning to polish out and finalize.
I’ve outlined the important bits below:
Title: Echo Core Premise: You arrive at Echo Technologies, a strange pixel-art laboratory where time seems to repeat itself. The townsfolk behave the same way each loop—at first. As you explore and interact with the environment, NPCs begin to remember, react differently, and ultimately become self-aware. The game progresses from simple puzzles to unsettling revelations about the world, the loop, and you, the player. Escape the loop by understanding why it exists—solve puzzles, build trust (or fear) among NPCs, and crack Echo’s secrets.
It currently consists of 2 main stages. both are quick to complete at couple minutes each. However after completing both, the player is then looped back to the start of the first but with slight variations in the puzzles and world behavior. after some loops, the game begins communicating directly with the player. Asking them if they would like to cheat on puzzles - then judging them for it, and speaking directly to the player through an NPC as they glitch out.
The game currently has no sounds what so ever and as a digital artist myself, I know being let free is sometimes more fun - so I encourage you to do so. Anything and everything would be greatly appreciated and I have already made a title screen to credit your music clearly.
Thanks for taking the time to hear me out, I’ve sent a friend request on discord, let me know if you are interested!
