Very impressive!

I like the references to Metroid Fusion especially :D

Yep!

Hmmmm... I should probably release this. It's on my computer alive and well.

Heya, sorry about the wait. It's fixed now:)

Very cool !!

I might do that :D.

I could also make it randomly generated as well.

this is really unique concept. Beautiful pixel art.

It does. The sound wasn't working?

All that relaxing air can be a bit overwhelming. I understand completely :)

One day I went on a walk alone in a large forest preserve.

I stepped off the path and encountered some small stone ruins and an abandoned camp site. An angry homeless dude stepped out the woods and began stalking me like one of the living dead.

It's an odd feeling to be stalked by danger in a place, where not too far away, people are partying and children are playing.

Thanks for asking and playing :D

P.S. To make matters worse, I had a bike with me in the middle of a huge grass area while this guy was approaching me. Felt like one of those nightmares where you're trying to run, but you move in slomo.

Thank you!

Ikr, why do people keep thinking the worst? lol

This is fun. I never realized how chess like these games are.

Hey, this is very cool. Great aesthetic! Interesting gameplay too.

Lol, I'm guessing you had a good time.

Thanks for playing :D

Hey man, that's awesome! Less is more with pixelart and I'm glad I could provide some resources to help ya.

Lol, no problem. This is motivation to pick up the pace.

Today I've begun testing objects in the game space. So far it's looking good without changing any graphical settings.

Pixel art can sometimes appear to distort or "jitter" based on the chosen screen aspect ratio, but so far so good.

Here's a gif to show what I've done so far:

The character walk animation is not finalized yet. This guy is actually Tomie's teacher for those in the know.

I finally decided to launch my Dev Log for this project at itch.io.

Originally I would share updates via Twitter, but the ensuing chaos of swirling opinions and ideologies was really throwing me off my productivity. It's not that I do not wish to engage the problems of the world which Twitter present, but it seems as though the best good I can do is from here on itch.io.

Games may be entertainment medium, but the time people spend playing them is valuable. Allow me to relay that value to you through this game.

Perhaps a Tomie game will not solve our social and societal ills, but at least it will allow those whom play a small bit of joy and respite in trying times.

Now to the dev stuff:

Working on walk cycles today

I've chosen 8 frames for each direction. So far so good.

Now THAT is a good idea! Thank you again for commenting and playing.

It's good for a few laughs...maybe tears lol. Thanks for playing.

I may implement some ways to compensate for the enemies being so unforgiving. Thanks for playing.

I'm in the process of creating new enemy types and trying out new things.

I'll add cats, but you may not like their behavior lol. They aren't the type to play by the rules. Thanks for playing.

Great stuff! Gives off a cozy, yet adventurous vibe.

Great mechanical concept! Not sure what emotion you're going for in terms of play experience though. The music is peaceful, but the red flashing implies pain.

You did great though. Nice job with the epic jetpak skills. I'll have to consider that for future iterations.

Meanwhile, I'll be closely considering the things you said for the upcoming sequel.

Thanks again for playing, dude.

I'll keep that in mind for the new version. Thanks for the feedback.

Great! I hope it is off good use. Let me know if you have any questions.

I LOVE Minesweeper! Great job, dude.

Yeah, I still need to learn music theory. I made some, but it was really bad lol. Thanks for the feedback.

Very immersive! Great characters.

Awesome!

Looks cool. I'll give it a try.

Very cool. Congrats on the Kickstarter!

Thanks! I really enjoy using this template too.
