what do you mean by “post them as a set when I finish”?

if it’s a game, publish it so others can play and give feedback, it’s absolutely okay. but if you mean posting the sprites, sorry, you cant. the license clearly says you cant redistribute the assets, even if modified.

it’s like “play this game for x hours/missions, you get x points”, right? As long as the player don’t own the art, you should be fine :)

1. Variations depend on what you really want and need. If you need frame-by-frame animation, you must draw all parts. If you wanna combine pixel art and skeletal animation, one static part is enough. However, since this pack is frame-by-frame, you’ll need to draw all parts
2. Dont overdraw. A 16px character is small and every pixel is expensive. Instead focusing on every body part, I focused on the head (the key feature) for my Unit Character
3. KISS principle! The last S hits me in the face every time I start messing around: use blocking, avoid so much pixel noise/orphan, avoid unnecessary micro acc, etc. Keep it simple!

Edit: 4. Use references to make life easier. Keep in mind that referencing is not tracing :)

For tool, Aseprite is enough

I’m still considering it, not all devs have the same approach when it comes to skin swapping. And what you meant is more suitable for skeletal animation, it’s less suitable for frame-by-frame animation (it would need to be combined, as I mentioned before)

You must learn character customization on your game engine. I like composition method. Each body part as a gameobject, animate it on Unity animator, and in runtime just swap the sprite.

Manual method you must do frame-by-frame animation on sprite editor (Aseprite/Pixel Studio/Photoshop) which slower to make and bad in some conditions

I’m not working on a building pack, but some packs has building(s) on it. For example, Hana Caraka - Livestock & Fish has coop and barn, Hana Caraka - Dungeon & Mining has blacksmith.
