Hey guys, it’s time for the Lovely Craft Piston Trap update 0.2.9 review! ☕☕
Last time I wrote anything was back in version 0.2.5, but I’ve been following every update since then. I just kept holding off on writing a review, letting the content pile up so I’d have more to comment on. Honestly, I was planning to wait a bit longer before writing this one, but I had such a curious idea that I couldn’t resist sharing.
Quick recap of recent updates:
New characters added via community votes:
The Enderman (or should I say Enderwoman?) was fantastic. The idea of her teleporting mid-orgasm is hilariously clever.
The Bee and Panda are super cute—more “standard” characters, which makes sense for expanding the roster slowly. They add more crafting possibilities and item interactions, which helps the game grow naturally.
The Creeper is also a great addition—especially now that she actually explodes. (People judged me for wanting her to explode!) That said, I think making her explode every single orgasm is a bit much—especially on the ears. A better approach might be making her explode only when you use a specific item on her, which would also make the achievement system more engaging (like the one for breaking the End Pearl).
Items introduced alongside characters generally feel well thought out and thematically consistent. I’m hoping for more craft-based interactions, though. It feels more rewarding to unlock content through gameplay than to just buy a box for 20 emeralds and—voilà—it’s all there.
About the massive wardrobe update in 0.2.9:
Honestly, this update took a while, but it came packed with content. While a lot of it doesn’t change gameplay much, I get that it’s something that had to be done eventually. I just hope the game doesn’t become only about changing outfits and watching characters strike new poses. That would be a waste of its potential.
Speaking of which…
Crime has already mentioned wanting to add minigames, and I fully support that idea. I’ve been suggesting this since my first reviews! Minigames would be a huge boost to the game, especially since there’s already a clicker-like core to it (let’s be honest—even if you deny it, the game clearly draws inspiration from Cookie Clicker, especially if you played the pre-Crafting Table version).
There’s so much Minecraft material to explore through minigames:
Farming
Mining
Fishing
Potion brewing
Redstone puzzles
Combat arenas
Building challenges
These could even become gameplay barriers to unlock certain characters, items, or biomes—which would make progression feel much more meaningful.
But now, a new concern hit me…
We need to talk about bosses before it’s too late! This is a golden opportunity to create something epic. Please don’t waste it!
Imagine:
A minigame to defeat a boss and unlock them as a piston character
Rituals to summon the Wither
Underwater exploration to find the Elder Guardian
Opening the End Portal for the Dragon, or even finding a way to challenge the Warden
Nether portals leading to fire-themed content…
Even something like cutscenes or unique animations when you defeat them would be amazing—though maybe that’s just a dream for those of us chasing the hardest challenges.
Final thoughts:
The last few updates have been more focused on outfits and characters, so maybe version 0.3 will be a mechanics-heavy update? That would make sense—five smaller content updates followed by a big gameplay overhaul. I’d be 100% okay with that.
As I always say: I love this game. I see so much potential in it, and I want to see it grow into something huge.
Let’s keep crafting, exploding, and dreaming. 🔥
