This is amazing, even the game manual design is on point

Such a cool concept, and great art + colours

I appreciate your enthusiasm very much 😄 I'm working on a couple of other gameboy games right now that have to take precedence because I'm being paid. But I'd love to get back in and make a proper version of this once I have some free time.

Thanks very much! Also I enjoyed your game Cold Nights!

Hey, thanks so much for playing! I appreciate your feedback and I fully agree.

What's become clear since making this demo is that the real gameplay (and the real fun) happens in the Challenges. So I'm working on ways to introduce them much earlier and with more frequency, making them the core method of progression rather than  Overworld fetch-and-sell quests.

I love that you wanted to investigate the onions 😄 that tells me a lot about player expectations and what people are drawn to. I think it would be great to flesh out some further interactability there.

Thanks again!

I've just uploaded a new build with improved RNG, so I would recommend giving that a go!

Eyyy fantastic! Was great to meet you, hope you enjoy this slightly expanded demo!

I love this lil character so much. Wonderful mood and aesthetic

Hey thanks, glad you enjoyed!

There have been some recent updates to GB Studio which make a full-fledged version more and more viable...

Hey there, I'm sorry but it looks like I don't have a .pocket file handy! However, I believe there are ways to play the existing .gb ROM file on an Analog Pocket (as seen in the magazine ad above).

This game has actually progressed a lot since I posted the playtest last year, so keep an eye out for an updated version soon.

I will make sure to include a .pocket version this time!

Indeed you can! Not sure why I haven't provided the .pocket file here, I'll upload it as soon as I'm back at my desk.

Five stars.

Disappointed that this did not come with a scoring pencil.

Cheers!

Wow, thanks very much Robert!

*unearths ancient Necron tech* Ah yes, retro hardware.

Glad you liked the dreadnought! Thanks for playing 🙏

Thank you! I'm very keen to expand the game much further.

Thanks so much! I'll look up how to make one.

Cheers! Thanks for playing!

Thanks shin! Will do.

Thanks very much, I appreciate it! 🙏

That would be "Mercenary Force", a very unique GB shooter (with ninjas). Thanks for playing!

Hey, thanks for playing! Glad you liked the ad, I loved making it.

I've noticed the controls don't seem super clear to everyone, so it's definitely not just a you issue and is something I'll look to improve. I appreciate the feedback!

Atmospheric and really charming :) All the subtle animations on the bridge are particularly good.

This is so amazing!!! I can't believe someone made a video of my very first game. Just wow ♥ and you've helped me see a lot of aspects I can improve on.

Congrats also for finding the key! Not everybody finds that.

It looks like the only thing you missed was the dash-roll function, which you can use by double-tapping left or right. This allows you to roll right through those guys in the blue hoods, and also to easily destroy multiple crates in a row (very satisfying!)

Honestly thank you so much!

Unfortunately not, as this was designed specifically for GBC. However, I have been toying with the idea of making a short prequel game for DMG. Then I can call this one Bestel DX.

For sure! I've added a download link above.

It's an honour ♥
