I'm sure this isn't going to work for everyone but i had struggled for quite a while today to get the game to launch. I have a I9 14900k, 64gb of ram, Nvidia Rtx 4080 and am on Windows 11.
I tried every fix i could possibly find but none of them worked, even updating my drivers but nothing worked. What finally actually ended up working was that i reinstalled the Nvidia App, then from within the Nvidia App under the drivers tab, clicking reinstall, then custom, then checking the "Clean Installation" box.
A couple minuets later it was done and i could launch the game with no issue, No compatibility modes, No run as administrator, nothing. all i can guess is maybe the Nvidia App changed some global graphics setting that caused the small black screen/not responding, or maybe even the Nvidia Overlay?
