I appreciate all the feedback & overall I'm glad you liked the game! If you are interested in Hobo Sim 2 or other games feel free to follow my page/game. Feel free to give it a rating too, it helps I think lol.
To address some of your concerns, some things in this game still were not fully fleshed out - I know, I know, I should probably had put a bit more care into certain things haha. But as you saw there was an original version which was slapped together really quickly, but it was a solid base and some people seemed to like it, so I wanted to atleast make it slightly better than what it was at first, hence the "update/rework". So it is entirely possible somethings like the housing and what not are broken. All things that would be fixed in Hobo 2.
Also, the reason you never got mugged was likely because after getting housing you become immune to being mugged, BUT I am not sure if that is super clear when playing the game. One thing I am still working on is how to make the late game not feel stale and boring. But based off previous comments on the old version vs your comment, I'm atleast happy the early and mid game were a pleasure to play through.
If you do follow, you'll likely see me release a few more games before I start Hobo 2, because I want Hobo 2 to actually be functional lol. And have deeper gameplay mechanics. Hence the update to Hobo 1, rather than rushing Hobo 2 and getting poor ratings. My 2nd game I've released, called Vikus, is a completely different genre of game, but pushes what you can do in HTML, given that I have no desire to learn a game engine. I am also working on a super indepth survival/tech advancement game too, which when released should feature alot of functions that I can easily port over to Hobo 2. Stay tuned!
