I just tend to have this compulsive urge to compensate people for helping me out with stuff as grand as Carnal Witch. Like imagine unexpectedly getting a present from someone out of the blue. In the back of my mind I’m like; “I’ll find a way to pay you back someday…”

But it feels like I’d have to pay you to do that- Like if you were to do that, I’d have the feeling to at least try to pay you $250 at the very least at some point in my life…that or substitute that with doing an animation or picture of some sort.

So I’m not really going to ask for anyone’s assistance on Carnal Witch…for now. The only thing I will be accepting in a way are ideas…even though a lot of the ideas are set in stone.

Well…to answer your question, I’m in the middle of slowly making a new version of the Carnal Witch project, but I’m not going to post the thing HERE specifically. Instead, I’m going to pull a “BunFan” and call this the legacy project, while making an entirely new project with the new system in place and game mechanics to differentiate it.

The only problem is that I probably have undiagnosed ADHD…maybe, and I’ve been procrastinating lately while working on like- 8 different ideas in the background. Give me a moment and a couple more reminders every once in a while…and a way to consistently draw backgrounds…(HELP)

Thankfully, I’ve thought about this ahead of time. I’ve had a conversation why I don’t do commissions a while ago, interestingly enough. Payment processors pretty much dictated what we did regarding it…and they were never fully clear on what was allowed or not, neither were they on our side. So…I didn’t want to open that can of worms.

I’m glad I have a life outside of Carnal Witch and NSFW projects to help sustain me.

I’m going to warn you…it’s a mix of both SFW and NSFW, and garners an 18+ community. So if you’re not willing to witness such lewd and crude content, (since that is literally how I started in this art and game dev journey,) then I’d recommend that you don’t even step floor in the “Sapphire Night Club” discord server.

Okay, that is something to think about in the future. I’ll have to find out how to do that with all the spaghetti code that I have right here…unless my feeling of redeeming myself to make a better version of this game overtakes me. If so, I’ll make itfrom scratch, with a different art style probably, and probably do it on future picarto/piczel streams like beat banger did for the fun of it. Uhh…That’s supposed to be the game’s score system, not really a way to make a potion. Basically, when you defeat an enemy, there’s a chance that they’re going to drop a potion, regardless of how you beat them. That’s how potions are made…they’re moreso “stolen” here.

But that’s a neat mechanic to pay attention to if I were to come back to this project one day. Thank you for your input!

I’m sorry that you had to experience that, but this game is officially not in development as of right now, so an android version is most likely out of the question. I’ve recently grown burnt out from this project, so I’ve moved on to other projects to keep me inspired.

Thank you for letting me know of your concern about this, I’ve heard that people were having trouble playing the game on the web. I think I know how to fix it, maybe…but I can’t be bothered to re-open the project, at least in this state. So, I’ll incorporate the mistakes I’ve made into other projects to improve myself.

So…anything I’ve just made as of so far, but to actually complete it. Gotcha.

Okay, this is without a doubt one of the longest games I’ve ever played in this game jam, and I’m actually glad that I pushed down my disliking of visual novels for this one. It took me 3 days to finish this game due to this fact about me, but I did it!

I really loved the characters you’ve made for this project, and to have your story portray that it’s okay to explore what your heart truly wants rather than to have your life and/or choices influence it on you and shove it down your throat. Having a character that had…600 years…I think…figuring this out, and then lightly implying that she may have become trans due to this discovery… (Chef’s kiss) was actually a really nice touch to better project that.

The most touchy and complicated subject in my opinion when it comes to beauty, is trying to advertise it. After seeing Anna’s substory, If I’m being honest, I would say that it’s both true that you should love yourself for what you are, and it’s also true to improve on what you have if given the chance. (But this is just me talking, you don’t have to listen to this; I don’t think plastic surgery is the best option out there if getting it is optional. Hey, if you had a broken nose before entering the operating room, then be my guest. It’s necessary for a healthy life at that point.)

In my personal opinion to possibly make a project like this better in the future, is the following:

• I would suggest including more sections of the top-down style gameplay to break up the dialogue whenever possible, like that sub-story for Mirabelle fighting that large reptile.
• Also for said gameplay, since it was only 2 attacks, I would suggest left-clicking on an enemy to perform a wind slash, and right click on an ally to heal them.
• If this game just so happens to have controller support, then it would essentially be the same thing assigned to the A/B buttons, A to cycle to Wind Slash, and B to cycle to healing. And clicking on the bumpers would cycle between the allies or enemies depending on what the last ability was used.

This is completely optional, you don’t have to listen to me, but thank you for making this wonderful game, and having me enjoy the experience.

I see making video games as more of a hobby than anything at the moment, hence why I don’t have a Paets/Substar as of right now, but I’m actually glad that you like this piece for what it is. I’m actually surprised about how some of the things you just suggested reflected my original take on this idea before time constraints to upload it for the Lewdie Game Jam!

I must’ve been getting terrible rolls then, I was really unlucky-

Alright, a relatively simple game, where the only difficulty is your overall confidence. (I messed up way too many times not reading the arrows before my fingers did.) I like this thing!

I can see where this game tried to be horny, but I don’t really know how to feel about it, but I noticed that this game has like- 3 implementations of the same game…er…it’s still pressing buttons in the correct order in each of the 3 levels, but there’s different ways of losing each level. The only thing I would suggest is to have the boss fight become a little less forgiving by punishing you if you get an arrow incorrectly.

Hehehe, I got softlocked being trapped between all of those girls~ This is a wonderful game with a wonderful concept! A few tweaks here and there, and it’ll wow a plethora of other people! But personal question? HOW IN THE WORLD DID YOU MAKE THESE 3D MODELS IN SUCH A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME-?!? THAT’S INSANE!!!

The things I would propose to improve this game substantially, is to change moving the camera to the mouse instead of the arrow keys…at least to make it an option. And I would recommend rebinding the enter key to WASD if you’re caught by a girl. I learned that overtime, people will like your game more if it’s as simple to play as possible…not saying that this is bad in any right-

This is a pretty neat game you have! The concept was relatively simple, and playing around with the things you can do here are absolutely wonderful and charming.

This is just me, but I was personally having trouble understanding how a lot of these settings works, even when I saw what “Music”, “Sleep” and even “Sex” does. My mind might be playing tricks on me, but yeah.

Despite this taking only 3 days to get this thing done, I’m genuinely impressed on how polished this thing is! Though getting things on beat leaves a lot to be desired, I like the concept as to how it may be implemented if polished all the way. And it’s just me talking, even after you may be done working on the project, but maybe it could be improved by adding more face buttons there, and difficulty settings~?

This is a great improvement from the first iteration of your game! There’s actually a possibility to for Cindy’s breasts to rip through her dress instead of it barely hanging on by a thread this go around, and I find that exceptionally hot. Though it felt a little bit stutter-y in my personal opinion. Other than that, it’s wonderful!

It’s funny how I beat the game after stage 20 on hard mode, and I got around 9200 points, but just a bit earlier, I lost on the same stage with 9400.

The only things that this game need in my personal opinion to make it perfect, is the add following;

• Particles to indicate that you’ve successfully broken your combo,
• Putting the start button and the on the bottom right corner, instead of the difficulty level and the candy.
• and finally adding some music to set the mood.

Again, this was an overall wonderful game. Thank you for letting me and others play it!

There is only word screaming in the back of my head as I played this game; Anime.

This is both hot, and short & sweet…but I found that despite having a limited energy bar, I could set the game to play itself at max speed and I could still get this dude to cum inside her by the time he runs out of energy.

This game actually has some potential if polished here! The animation is wonderful, The opossum is very hot, making me interested in playing the prequel to this game to see how her personality’s like…I’m definitely not trying to find a waifu to turn into a modified body pillow, I swear- For all the good things that’s built into this game, there’s some things I would like to say that pulls me out of the immersion;

• The controls are solid, but I was personally having trouble adjusting to the note layout, as it’s not universal not looking like DDR/FNF. (For extra points, adding WASD, or even QWOP keys. There are people who will thank you for it.)
• The song choice was quite beautiful, but I didn’t feel as if this song was built with beats in mind, but rather to set the tone to an environment.
• And…the game didn’t really…have a tempo. This game was built like DDR/FNF, and I appreciate it, but in order to get in the zone, I find that I had to disconnect my brain from the music and focus more on the notes, since there’s no audio queues/beat to help immerse me.

I don’t mean anything bad about it in any right, but that’s just my criticisms here to make the game better. This is a wonderful experience, and I really have to thank you for it. I’ll be back with a higher score than 6930 and a screenshot to prove it next time!

Not going to lie, this took me nearly a week to finish. I’m so ashamed to not knew what the first one was, I literally heard of it before!

This was a good think, great job! Oh, and for the casual viewers, look into this game for the gameplay, and not the porn. You’ll see what I mean after completing it soon enough.

For what you have, this is short and sweet! It’s also exceptionally hot in a way I can’t put my finger on, and the controls made it easy to play, so that’s a good thing.

…I can see what you mean about this game being…pseudo-rhythmic on Discord though. It’s good the way you set it up, but I can see where it could get more improvements in the future. I can see its faults the most in the “Chairs” and “Jelly” levels.

“Chairs” didn’t really have a song suited for the level at hand, making it difficult for me to fully recognize the beat, and I could actually click on multiple…beat balls whenever they were both on the blue square when I press the space bar. “Jelly” on the other hand was easier, but the gameplay wasn’t in sync with the music.

If you plan on updating the game in the future, then I gotta say; this has some nice potential, and I’m looking forward to it!

This is just me, but I was waiting for Violet to get milked after I won the game a second time. Otherwise this is awesome!

This is actually an impressive game for what it is! I may not be one to play visual novels all that much, but the story that pulls you to think about a concept that not everyone thinks about.

Vent Incoming: Thinking that you can lose your partner over something as little as not liking sex? Or even not primarily liking it? That’s not right! If you find someone that thinks that way in real life, having a belief that sustaining a relationship/partnership is about physical touch, sex or even staying with each other like…24/7? Hey, in some cases, it’s fine but that’s just petty.

I don’t know if everyone sees relationships like this, but I believe that the BF/GF/Husband/Wife label lets people know that this person is your BFF, and I do mean “Forever” in BFF, but has the moral capability to bed them. (With their permission and interest, of course.) Having a true relationship with a partner is about having unbridled trust, pushing through tough times through communication and patience, and most importantly, loyalty. (We need more people in the world with loyalty, I swear.) Heck, a relationship can mean that you can treat them like your homies…er…assumably 1 homie.

I actually like this as a nice philosophical piece, great work!

Aw…well, I tried. Maybe downloading the hotfixed version will do the trick for you? I’ve just uploaded a version that might fix the problem, and I’m now dealing with a couple bug fixes too.

Just please do me a favor and delete the “Carnal Witch Appdata” folder before turning the new version of the game on, and let me know if it works?

Okay, so umm… funny thing, the second after making an announcement that I had one exclusively for game dev announcements, I realized that I’m doing just fine updating people here and on NewGrounds. I have another reason, but it’s more of a personal reason if anything. So…to answer your question…it’s gone.

Okay, I just took a look at your problem, and I can confirm that you need a “settings.json” file in order to start the game without having a system error like you’re talking about. I’ll make a fix to it within the hour.

Until then, Go to “C:\Users(Insert_User_Here)\AppData\Roaming\Godot\app_userdata\Carnal Witch” in the Windows Explorer, and then replace the “settings.json” code with this; {“bgm”:0,“fullscreen”:false,“resolution”:{“x”:1280,“y”:720},“sfx”:0}

If “settings.json” doesn’t exist, then make one under the same name, and copy/paste the above code. Restart the game, and then the game should load the game properly. Please let me know how that works for you, alright?

Yeah, right now I’m just working on sounds for the most part for the next update. And if I have the time, I’ll work on 1 more enemy before I cease all development over this game indefinitely. This project might get leverage in the future, but for now I’m just mentally exhausted from this thing.

It’s actually very funny, that was actually my first idea when I was developing this game…it’s possible that I may or may not add something like that. Maybe in the future when the game isn’t in alpha, since it’s within the lore that genderbending is possible…but the scope of this as my first ever game was already so big. So, I’m ceasing development for this game indefinitely after a sound overhaul and possibly adding 1 more enemy.

If the game is back in development after then, probably in 2025-2026, then it’s possible to expect it to be implemented properly at one point in time.

Noted, but I would rather work on the audio…or lack thereof in the game first. For now, I’m planned on making 1 more animation, and possibly 1 more type of enemy to keep things fresh.
