I really think you should. Keep the art the same style you have a good design mechanic. Good luck can't wait for more.

In fighting games its an "impact hit" refers to the moment when a character's attack successfully connects with another character. Not about shake its more about how you get this impact of your swing. Look at the game your emulating hotline Miami. Every hit/ punch and shot "feel" impactful. Currently this has none of that.
The current approach for moving forward and shooting is not working for me. I'm wondering if you could explore alternative techniques for maintaining accuracy while moving. It would be much more effective if the movement allowed for strafing and shooting, similar to other games in the genre.
The visuals are fantastic, but they clash with the current mechanics.
