Your honor, for today's theory is about the map of the magic realms.
Alright, let's see, we have the academy and some other current places we can go to.
Let's keep it simple make use the Academy as the central of the places.
First we have the forest, it could and probably surround the academy as proven by some characters that the academy is very close to the forest.
The cave on the other hand could be located deep inside the forest in North since there's a griffin(?) there it would prefer cooler and humidity atmosphere.
Chapel of the elves could be located in the east or west some what close to the forest or inside the forest of the realms since in my very little research (5 minutes) most religion place their gods idol in the east or west direction.
The Plaza, obvious, it would be a straight road from the academy main entrance around 500 meters or 1 miles due to how many houses there are.
The neighborhood (Liz mother home) probably a separate part of the plaza with a short walk distance.

HOLD IT, the nonsense here I'm mentioning is that I don't focus on a specific things and end my theory on having three things open up. Elizabeth's mother broken dream via failing the trial or having Elizabeth herself (how did she get pregnant), the good ol' nonexistent or used to of men (was the elves the cause) in the realm and the trial (who and how did the trial maker know about the symbol of man and woman).

As we all know, Elizabeth's mother (can't remember her name), want Elizabeth to rid herself of anything that she considered a distraction and become a powerful witch to be the one to save the witches or something I forgor.
She wants that probably because she once strive for the same but failing at the end via the trial or having Liz.
Maeve has said that nobody in the realm has any ideas on how a man looks like and even if there were records records of men inside the realm they are as lost as time.
The entrance to the trial required two individuals of opposite sex that means female and male judging by the symbols Arthur mentioned. Whoever made that trial must know about men or maybe has gone to the human realm once.
