Thanks for the detailed review! It's good to hear the the upgrade progression is paced well since I didn't have time to test. I did want more dialogue during the upgrades, but that also fell victim to running out of time. What size monitor do you have? I have a 2560x1440 monitor, and the text looked okay to me, and I wasn't sure how it would look on other sized monitors. I suppose a home arrow would be useful, I never considered what the map would look like when it was fully cleared out. I did think about having the belly size change based on how many children you're carrying, but 1. I wasn't sure if players might miss out on the last size by just getting 2-3 at a time, and 2. I wanted her boobs and butt to get bigger, and I thought it would look a little strange if those were growing and shrinking too. I'm glad you enjoyed the game! Hopefully this time I can do a post-jam patch (I will at least fix the crashing), since the main thing I wanted to add was more cutscene/dialogue stuff.
Thank you! I'm not sure why exactly the text cuts off as it always displayed fine for me, but it looks like there's a simple option to allow resizing the window. I'd want to at least do a balance/QOL update, but then for a major update after that, I'll have to see if updating the game or making a full sequel would work better, but I have thought of where I could take this after the end!
I'll keep a list of known bugs here for everyone to see. Version 1.1 has these bugs fixed, so I would recommend you play with that version, however for the judges please use the original "Vivian's Diner Shift" download for scoring.
- The top left table on day 2 is offset, so you can't put anyone there
- The customers stack on top of each other, so you take a random customer when you interact with them
- The lose screen says to press spacebar, but it's actually coded to go away on Left Click
Thank you! For the seating, I think what it is is that 1. One of the tables on level 2 is just a little bit off-grid, which breaks that whole table, and 2. I thought the customer queuing was working but it broke when I put in the sprites, so all the customers stack on top of each other so you just grab a random customer from the pile with no way to know which one it is.
This was a fun game, the dialogue was nice, crosscrescent's art is great as always, and the differences between the three fairies was neat. The one problem I had was with the soul fairy, where the short attack range made killing enemies without getting hit hard, and so I had a big group of enemies at the end (with some of the 2nd werewolf enemies still alive). This made everything slow down and lag, even after culling the down the group.
