25 pages, FULL-COLOUR, of zhou linfeng being adorable and puppy-like sad??? god the gorgeous color scheme from bright and warm red slipping, darkening into desolate blue... AND EVERYTHING ABOUT THE COMPOSITION especially representing distance!!! from my beloved xie tianyu commenting early on if zhou linfeng expects to "get anything but distance today", to the panel where despite sitting together zhou linfeng and minister yuezheng are still separated by the table between them... when zhou linfeng wishes to cross the boundary, he is painfully reminded of having to maintain the appropriate distance... (and this is why i have nothing but good to say about confucianism). 

ALSO THE MOON!!!! the moon of zhou family's mooncake eaten by zhou linfeng himself... and though it feels the moon is unreachable to zhou linfeng and that it is past his grasp, that same mid-autumn moon is reflected in minister yuezheng's cup... haha minister yuezheng still sees it!!!! [becomes insane] also please do not talk to me about the li shangyin poem quoted by minister yuezheng--i'm already fragile enough as is. it took me three times to read this zine to completion because my heart was aching so much for zhou linfeng that i had to physically close the zine in some parts before i had the emotional clarity to continue again. 

love the authors' notes! about the mooncakes, the characters' profiles and absolutely gorgeous art. i would ABSOLUTELY recommend getting the physical version for your greatest reading enjoyment. thank you for sharing as always and looking forward to see more!!

Absolutely lovely piece of a zine! The writing is so gently immersive and atmospheric; each page makes me feel as though I am following an actual historical Tang dynasty investigation led by the MC Zhou Linfeng, but also the broader A/B/O worldbuilding we see permeating and influencing the case throughout the zine. 

I absolutely love Zhou Linfeng -- he is such a straightforward and darling man. The rest of the cast stand out strong and complex even if we only see them in glimpses. Special shoutout to Minister Yuezheng <3 So excited to see his interactions with Zhou Linfeng. 

The exposition of the case and the way its elements come together tie up the ending resolutely. It's a satisfying conclusion, and I had to commend the author for reading the Analects of Confucius for this. Amazing work!!! Thank you so much for sharing and excited to see more!!!
