Yes it's supposed to restart because it needs to clear the cache. Don't worry the whole game isn't long so if you restart just go through the whole game in one shot without saving or exiting. There should be a disclaimer at the start of every fresh run stating that players should finish the game in one shot. Hope that helps! Once you start the game fresh, just finish a walkthrough and when you're directed back to the main menu just click start again. Don't worry you'll find new stuff along the way. Rinse and repeat until the game tells you to stop.
