if you are looking to speed past the first couple floors, use the end keys and page up/down keys . my strat is to always speed run the first floor, assess my items in the shop area, fuck and sell to the pigman to get a bonus on items, and buy a mana potion from the vending machine . maybe spend another 100 on one of the statues towards the top of the room, depends how prosperous the first floor was . the game can get unlucky sometimes, so this is at least what gets my runs going .
