Since the last update, I’ve been focusing on several features that aren’t fully implemented yet. A lot of work has gone into improving combat, including adding the ability to knock enemies unconscious instead of always killing them, as well as developing more user friendly dodging and blocking mechanics. I’ve also been fixing bugs related to ranged attacks.

Today I’ve been working on improving the local view for settlements, which were much worse in previous versions. I’m planning to add shields and bandages to shops with appropriate pricing. Temperature is another system that needs an overhaul. My current idea is that staying well hydrated will slow how quickly extreme heat becomes deadly, while staying well fed will slow how quickly extreme cold becomes deadly.

There should be an update ready for Thursday night, right before the weekend.

Hey! Sorry I havent gotten around to your message, I'm new to this site and didn't know you have to approve some posts, first off I appreciate your interest in my project, and I hope you'll see this message.

My plans are for this game to have a world that feels alive, systems that are interconnected and if one or more fail, everything falls apart, pretty much exactly how the Bronze Age fell, currently you can build an outpost, and I'm fairly certain you can turn it into a village, then a city, but I need to start debugging to make sure, currently I'm working on small things like a main menu and some small bug fixes like with combat etc, but I can definitely make a sort of lore that your character has when you retire them, currently you can only advance so many years into the future, and once you die, the world ends as far as lore goes, this kind of addition will probably be towards the end though.

I wasn’t sure how many people would want there to be diversity with religion in the game, but I can definitely do a system where you would pick a god to be the one true god, or maybe a sort of free for all where every god exists and they are fighting for unilateral control, or just a no god option, and yeah if there was a one true faith you could choose, there would be bonuses to the followers, or in the case of every god existing, all of them would have small bonuses and the bonuses would scale with how popular that god is, codes of conduct would be something like a god of war demanding blood or a fertility god wanting societal growth and prosperity, its definitely something I can add but probably later on.

This is the dungeon crawler i was talking about, i was able to get this up after a few hours, you'll need to manage sanity, which drops if you're in the dark, sanity will cause even benign enemies to be more scary/dangerous when it drops too low, if you get 0 sanity and 0 health its game over, but if you keep your sanity above 0, and you get low health, you will pass out and leave the dungeon.

To keep yourself from going insane you'll need to pick up oil charges for your torch, which become more and more rare every level, there's 1 safe zone after every 5 levels, so 3 in total, the first will heal you and charge your torch but get progressively weaker as you go deeper.

At one point there was an entire Philistine civilization, an entire Canaanite civilization, a Minoan civilization, I ended up making the Canaanite civilization a bunch of smaller city states for historical authenticity, so what was the Canaanite country is now Hazor, the Philistines came after the bronze age collapse, so I made them into Gaza, and made them Canaanite culture/religion, I just annexed Minoa into Mycenean Greece since thats what maps say who owned it at the time, I could make them independent and a vassal of Mycenae if that would be more interesting.

As far as other religions I was kind of going for a "one true" religion for the game, but I can definitely switch it up and make the "one true" god whichever the player picks at the start of the game, currently I'm working on a dungeon crawler mini game for some of the non-israelite temples, like a sacred ritual where you descend and are tested by the god of that civilization, but if you end up killing all 6 false gods, it would unlock an ending where you're called off the map by Yahweh and ascend into heaven.

Try it now, fingers crossed.

Building a macos-x86_64 as we speak, hopefully this will work for you, if not I'll try to fix it as soon as I can, sorry for the inconvenience!

Thank you!

Yeah, the MacOS version is outdated, I’ll have to download a virtual machine and fix it when I get home today, maybe around 5pm EST it should be out.

Edit: Released Mac version, hopefully it works, I'm going to try to set up a Mac virtual machine to test.

Edit: Just released new version for Windows, should run fine.

That's refreshing!
