I don't have a mother complex, and while relationships can be established early in the game, the humorous "going home" option in dialogues like the one in the snow cabin still hints that Anna was originally the protagonist's mother. This creates a strange sense of distance for me.

This is usually the case, if a game can be sold in China and has official Chinese language support, it will almost certainly be a hit.
