Thanks for the listen and feedback! Handmade instruments, sounds very cool. I play sax and flute, you got me to look up their production process - seems they are made by hand in Japan, I didn't know that!

Definitely full of atmosphere! One thing that might make it even more listenable in my opinion (and this is just a suggestion, there are no rules in music!) is giving the melody more time to breathe between phrases. Even when writing for string instruments that don't technically need a breath, melodies are clearer and more communicative when they have a defined start and end point. I noticed this issue most at the end.
Other than that as I said you nailed the atmosphere that you were aiming for, well done!
Thanks! I actually use the template they provided which has the macro built in on almost all of yhe tracks. But I actually felt that was really bad for realism since it didn't allow me to tweak them independently...
I really don't like a lot of things about the EastWest vsts.. it was just so handy to open the template and start writing. I really want to make my own template with audio imperia vsts that I own and like a lot
Less is almost always more when it comes to arranging... I feel I could have done even better at that had I spent more time on it - mainly making sure each part has a very clear focus point and that whatever else os going on servse very clear and distinct purpose such as rhythm, background harmony etc. Thanks for the listen and the feedback 🙏
Hey! Nice song, I liked the sub bass sound! very huge :)I'd consider a little less repeating of the theme as is, rather making variations and flowing in and out of it. You did one or two variations but it still felt a bit repetitive to my ears. The groove was also a bit repetitive. The whole track did sound coherent and musical, so I think it has potential, keep at it!
Groove in green was super fun! Funny, I also started playing around with a bagpipe sound when I started working on this jam :) (ended up going with dulcimer instead though)
Overall great track (refering to green), there were a few moments of harmonic clash, might be a preference/style thing, but I'd check out for example 0:28 and 0:45 - tweaking the chord or the melody a bit might make it sound more palatable, to my ears at least lol.
Other than that, great vibe! and the bassline + drums work really nice, thumbs up!

Yes, the mix isn't totally there yet.. I just spent two evenings writing this piece, only started after I saw the message that there was a two day extension for the submissions lol...
The arrangement could definitely use some tweaking as well, Basses are there but not giving enough oomph, I agree. Plus I'd probably make the track longer and have more time for each idea to play out more fully. But for the time I did spend, I am happy with the result :)
Re VST - This track was created with Eastwest vsts. I have the Composer cloud plus subscription which gives access to their whole ~3tb catalog... I've been playing around with their free Cubase template they released not long ago, I even made a video review about it, check it out on my YT channel -
I'm new to the gaming world but you can check out my YouTube channel to hear snippets of orchestral music I created. One example is here.
I'm also a saxophone player, check that out here to see if that kind of a sound might be relevant to your game.
Apart from that, If you'd send me a visual, a few words about the game and maybe even a musical reference I'd be happy to create a little demo for you!
