With the Ecto Cooler and "Pulchritudinous"... Well-played. I didn't think about adding homestuck references!

Watching the first stream! It was fun to participate!

Shift to sprint, the platforming might be hard if you're not holding shift. Yeah I kinda made some assumptions about FPS mechanics, I can update the description for sure! Also it's controller capable too!

Really? Fascinating, were you on Chrome, or something?

Really like the duck, you obviously put a lot of time and work into that asset!

Regarding the bank info-- if you choose to not charge for the game, it shouldn't ask for bank info, if I recall correctly!

While the game is very bare-bones, do try playing it with a controller! Everything is implemented, including sprint, crouch, and jump!

Lol same as ShampooBandit, I spent all my time waffling between game styles, ended up building out a 2d and 3d engine from scratch with nothing in it, and wasting a ton of time on [bad] art assets that I barely took advantage of.

I think next year I'll team up with someone like Beanie (OP) so that we can use our skills to the fullest without having to spend time doing the things we're bad at.

3 person teams really seem to be the way to do it, I'll just have to set up a team github to sync up!

I thought web builds were an absolute must from before the event started, not sure if the rules changed, but they're now still "heavily encouraged. Web builds get judging priority"
So while small tweaks are allowed, maybe consider making your game a web build!

I churned out some garbage for my game, but the first thing I did was make sure that it runs on the web. If anyone else wants help getting Godot set up for web build, I'll treat this thread as a helpdesk for getting you there!

Controller is FULLY supported though!

Submitted after adding some platforms and a collectible.

Not sure I'm going to make it in time with anything actually enjoyable here. I have a start screen, a duck, a TV, and a hard-pivot to a FPS. And I plan on wasting my time trying to fix controller support for FPS mode's camera.

Good to know, thanks!
For anyone who wants to see what my start menu and/or the bare minimum look like, please feel free to check out my page at https://nire46.itch.io/shroomjam-2025! I'll keep it up-to-date with my progress!
Anyone interested in any of my dog water assets? Let me know, I'll shoot 'em over to you! They're all originals!
Current updates:

  1. Made TV
  2. Made Duck
  3. Hand painted 5 frames of TV static and cut them together in a sprite asset animation
  4. Added Duck movement
    1. Supports WASD/Arrows/Controller
  5. Added boundaries and static window size
  6. Added an unpathable start button teaser
  7. Added spatial audio to TV, with Audacity generated white noise + sound tweaking for a more "TV" sound
(Will keep editing but these first 7 items took me the full first workday)
  8. Duck turns on movement, start button can be hidden behind as duck.
  9. Esc now crashes the game (or closes it if run locally)

Let me know if you have any questions!

Am I allowed to share progress here?
I've made the bare minimum and I'm curious if people want to follow along as I progress.

lmao literally the only thing I've programmed so far is a high-fidelity static effect and a TV. I'm so mad right now.
