Very cute art and the background music set a great atmosphere !

I so badly wanted to climb a tree and jump up onto the inaccessible rooftops though :P But I understand it is a game jam and there is only so much you can manage to implement under such a limited time. I would have loved to hear the chomp sound effect and seen the animation. I'm sure they would have been great :)

Fun game !

One issue I encountered was that the 'upgrade speed' had the opposite effect, all my buildings began to shoot slower. Other than that it was very pleasant ! Good job

A fun and nice experience but I wish it had more depth to it.

Looking forward to the next update.

Great looking game with mechanics that fit the theme. It was good fun watching the swarm devour entire fields :)

Short but very fun !

The art and the music fits very well together, the gameplay was fun but could use some polishing.

I would say the main problem area is the camera, or specifically that it was tied so closely to the jump.

If the camera instead follows behind the character in a slow(lerped) fashion it becomes easier for the eyes to register the enemies and calculate when to jump.

There are great talks on camera movements on the Game Developers Conference (GDC) youtube if you're interested. One that I would recommend is "Math for Game Programmers: Juicing Your Cameras With Math". But I understand that it is a game jam, and that there are only so many things you've got time to add in this far too short week :)

Best of luck on your next project or if you decide to keep working on this !

The diverging paths or branches created very pretty patterns but the gameplay was a bit confusing as I didn't understand why I died or how I could have avoided it.

Fun game :)

I'd consider adding a small delay on the shop and the ready popup as a safeguard for those trigger happy people like me. I lost the opportunity to buy/upgrade just before the boss fight which left me ill-prepared to take on such a challenging task.

Thank you for the feedback and the very kind words !

Haha, thank you for the compliments !

It is as another comment mentioned. Having moving environment would probably add a lot to the sense of speed which was something we wanted to add but unfortunately did not have time for. As it stands right now, we do want to continue working on the project so come back later !

Witnessed! :D

Indeed, time was short and there were plenty of things we would have loved to have implemented including a big boss fight !

However, the current plan is that we keep working on the game after a brief moment of rest so please come back in a not too distant future and check it out !

Fun game with a unique magic system and lovely graphics.

The spellcasting mechanics lead to interesting choices/solutions to the puzzle platforming problem at hand. Bringing up questions such as: Do I wait for the spell that I think is best for this situation, or do I use the one that I currently have to my disposal, all while weighing the risks that would include.

Very adorable and oddly terrifying at the same time :)

Fun but the rotation were a tad bit too sensitive for me, would have wanted all four of my stumpy legs along the road to really ramp up that speed !

Visually pleasing game with great lightning and cool effects.

It was surprisingly fun to climb the tower with instances of nerve-racking chaos if multiple upward boosts aligned in the same vertical line.

My only wish was that the control-scheme went back to normal on a delay.
