First off, I love that art work! It's got me hooked already *pun intended* from the first two songs, i can invision them on a lo-poly game so love that. It's got me thinking of 00s/10s DS games. I really like the leitmotifs in fishing day. that sound design in Rare is brilliant. Really impressed by this submission (Only downside is that now i wish that game existed)
- Hey, lovely submission! Really nostalgic of the time period where wii games were everywhere. I've made some notes whilst listening, so I will leave these bellow;
Main theme:
- hopeful sounding
- felt like the listener was about to embark on a journey
Nikumi:
- i like the harpi-type piano and that the arpegiated theme comes back, super effective!
Family:
- Really effective, instrumentation with the drums and bass reminded me of 00s wii games
Overall: Really solid submission, I like the droney parts though feel that dynamics could benifit from being controlled a little bit more.
Great submission with a really well-executed composition, incredible for a first-game jam! I won't comment on mix/master as I think the composition is better focused on here other overall tonality. I really got the sense of the desert on the first half, though I really like the bassline that comes in for 'finding the lost city' I am not too sure it completely pairs with the first half of the track? It felt to me like going from the desert and then suddenly into a jazz bar.
Once again, lovely work! And I look forward to seeing you at more jams
City falling apart and I'm in the middle; I like the simplicity of the harmony/melody with the drums evolving throughout. It is difficult to hear the kick drum which is a shame (I get the same feedback from my teachers, so I get it lol) I've heard that side chain compression can help. I really like the section where the full drums comes in
Help me I think I'm Lost: Immediately with those footsteps are nice, and that crackling effect towards the end of that sci-fi intro part sounds great!
Nice well rounded project :)
